"Trifling" — Love After Lockup fans criticize Zeruiah for not telling Troy she was off birth control

Season 5 of Love After Lockup aired a new episode on Friday, November 8, 2024. The latest segment featured Zeruiah thanking Troy for adopting her son and being an ideal father. She was grateful for everything he did for her son in the absence of his biological father. The conversation moved Troy to tears and motivated him to be a better person for his children.

Meanwhile, when Zeruiah floated the idea of having another child, Troy protested. He explained they were not in the financial position to afford to raise another person. While speaking to the cameras, Zeruiah revealed she went off birth control because she wanted to have another kid. However, she kept Troy in the dark about her plan.

Love After Lockup fans took to X to criticize Zeruiah for hiding her intentions from Troy. They didn't like her decision of lying to him about going off birth control.

"Love and appreciate him so much yet trying to trap him with an unplanned pregnancy. Trifling," a fan wrote.

"I kno Z pack is not talking bout bringing babies into this dysfunctional mess," another fan commented.

"You and Troy don’t need no more children hell y’all don’t even have a job," a netizen tweeted.

Many Love After Lockup fans were critical of Zeruiah's decision to keep the information from Troy, stating that an unplanned pregnancy would be detrimental to their financial condition.

Some Love After Lockup fans reacted to Zeruiah saying she went off birth control because it caused her face to break out.

"Okay Zeruiah just claimed she isn't on birth control but she was steadily blaming her birth control for her acne?" a person reacted.

"She’s trying to trap Troy! And I think she’s lying cause people literally go on birth control to help with acne," another netizen commented.

Zeruiah "formally" thanked Troy for adopting her son and complimented him for being an ideal father figure to him. She was grateful that he fulfilled the roles and responsibilities his birth father could not. Troy got emotional as Zeruiah expressed her gratitude for giving him the time and upbringing she could not.

"I can't teach him how to be a man, you know, so I really appreciate you," she said.

The Love After Lockup star hugged Troy to comfort him. In the meantime, he confessed he wanted to make his family proud and leave his kids "something that they can look up to." He also wanted to meet Zeruiah's expectations of him and not let her down at any point.

He vowed to rework himself and not get caught up in illegal activities. Troy knew he could not afford to end up in prison with two children at home.

"I'm emotional because the sweet little kid, he's always wanted a dad and now that he finally has a dad, I hope that I would never go to prison again," he said.

At that point, Zeruiah raised the subject of having another child. However, Troy was not too keen on the idea because of their unstable financial situation. He wanted to fulfill his "generational wealth goals" before having another child. However, Zeruaih had other plans.

While speaking to the cameras, the Love After Lockup female cast member revealed she was not on "any type of birth control."

"That was causing me to break out really really bad so I stopped," she said.

However, Troy did not know that Zeruiah was not on birth control. She explained she was 32 years old and did not want to "wait too long" before having another kid.
