"Truly heartbreaking" — Survivor season 47 fans react to Tiyana's elimination

Survivor season 47 aired its latest episode on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. After Rome's surprising eviction the previous week, the castaways bid farewell to an emotional Tiyana in Wednesday's segment. She was sent packing after her own teammates blindsided her by turning against her.

Tiyana landed on the blue team with Rachel, Caroline, Sue, Gabe, and Kyle, most of whom were original Tuku tribemates after host Jeff Probst randomly reshuffled the players for an immunity challenge. However, instead of feeling confident as a former Tuku member, Tiyana worried they would become the other team's target and eventually turn on each other.

After losing the immunity challenge, the blue team discussed who they wanted to eliminate. Tiyana suggested they vote off Gabe to reduce the number of Tuku members; however, her plan failed to pursue Sue and Caroline, who decided to honor their pact with Gabe. Meanwhile, Rachel was barred from voting and safe from elimination after receiving the Safety Without Power advantage.

After long deliberation, Gabe convinced Sue, Caroline, and Kyle that Tiyana would be difficult to control and that evicting her would be the wisest decision. Consequently, with a majority vote against her, Tiyana was eliminated from the competition show. Survivor 47 fans were shocked by the outcome, and unhappy to see Tiyana leave. They took to X to comment on the castaway's tearful exit. One fan wrote:

"An incredible player like Tiyana going in such a chaotic tribal and not even making jury is truly heartbreaking."

Survivor season 47 fans reacted to Tiyana's emotional exit. They were upset and claimed she deserved to stay on the show longer.

"I got bamboozled" — Survivor evictee Tiyana reflects on her elimination

The Blue team lost to the yellow team in the immunity challenge and headed straight to the Tribal Council. However, before walking into the eviction round, Tiyana approached Rachel and confessed she wanted to take out Gabe. She hoped Caroline would support her plan because going ahead with five Tuku members would sabotage their gameplay, making them evident targets to their opponents.

"Everyone's gonna gang up on us. And honestly, what better way to prove that we have cracks than to vote out Gabe?" Tiyana said.

At the Tribal Council, Caroline expressed she needed to make a move best for her game and her alliance. In a last-minute conversation, Gabe pulled Caroline to his side, saying:

"You, me, and Sue, do not break, no matter what."

Caroline knew joining forces with Tiyana would mean breaking her pact with Sue and losing Gabe as a shield. Consequently, she changed her decision to target Tiyana.

The Survivor star Gabe was informed that Tiyana was trying to boot him off the show. Hearing that, he approached Kyle, who was initially in favor of Tiyana, and said:

"Sue will do whatever we f**king want...and we can't control T."

As a result of Gabe's efforts and his alliance with Sue and Caroline, Tiyana was eliminated with the most votes against her. The only vote Gabe received was from Tiyana. The female cast member walked away without speaking a word to her tribemates.

In her exit confessional, she said:

"I thought I could trust the people that were in my alliance and I got bamboozled. To come this far and to literally be one vote away from making jury I'm beyond devastated right now. I think I played a genuinely honest game and it was true to myself."

Tiyana added she regretted the people she trusted but never her gameplay.
