Vanderpump Rules' Ariana Madix really wants to star in a hypothetical revival of Mamma Mia!

Reality TV star Ariana Madix, best known for her role on Vanderpump Rules, is eager to return to the Broadway stage and has set her sights on a beloved musical Mamma Mia! The reality TV star turned Broadway performer, 39, made waves earlier this year when she starred as Roxie Hart in the Tony-winning revival of Chicago.

Her performance was so well-received that she returned for an encore in August 2024. Now, Madix has her eyes on a new musical project, hoping to join the cast of Mamma Mia! if it ever returns to the Great White Way.

"My first show I ever saw on Broadway was Mamma Mia!, so, if Mamma Mia! is coming back to Broadway, I would love to be a part of it in any way, shape or form," Madix told People magazine.

She even joked that she would go as far as bejewelling all costumes to be involved. "I’ll do whatever it takes!” she added.

Mamma Mia! is a musical composed of popular songs from Swedish pop group ABBA. This film revolves around a young lady, Sophie who is planning her wedding and invites three men to find out which one of them is her father.

The musical, previously performed on Broadway from 2001 to 2015, originated as a Tony Award nominee and starred Louise Pitre and Tina Maddigan. The show’s success led to multiple tours and productions worldwide and a movie hit in 2008 starring Meryl Streep, Kirsten, Amanda Seyfried, and others. Its sequel Mamma Mia Here We Go Again was released in 2018.

To Ariana Madix, the desire to get back to the stage is not new. Her love for musicals can be attributed back to her undergraduate days at Flagler College in Florida. After completing the course she pursued her passion by acting on Broadway in New York City.

However, Ariana Madix took a detour into bartending when she relocated to LA and got a job at SUR which is depicted on Vanderpump Rules. Nevertheless, Madix did not forget her main fascination, which is theater after she jumped to reality TV show fame.

Ariana Madix's Broadway debut as Roxie Hart in Chicago in January 2024 was a dream come true. At the time she described her role in Chicago as a "fulfillment of a lifelong dream" and told People magazine that the role was "quite literally everything" to her.

Apart from acting, she has been vocal about her new partnership with DSW, the holiday shoe collection. While discussing her fashion line, she has encouraged the listeners to experiment with their dressing.

"Something that I am learning a little bit later in my womanhood is that, if you see something that you want to try, just try it. You can wear anything that you want to wear. There’s no rules," she said.

In the same interview with People, Ariana Madix also expressed that she is grateful to be able to do what she loves and would love to keep doing that, with film, TV, and Broadway.
