Jax Taylor, popular for his role in Vanderpump Rules and its spin-off series The Valley, mentioned that he has been diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and bipolar disorder. He shared the news on his Instagram account on September 2.

He added that he was being treated at an intensive inpatient treatment facility but was now home.

“A little over a month ago, I checked into an intensive inpatient treatment facility scared of the unknown and what I would find out about myself. After many years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD,” he wrote.

Taylor added that while this was an "emotional time" for him, he was determined to control his mental illness instead of the other way around.

"It’s been a lot to process" Jax Taylor on his bipolar disorder and PTSD diagnosis

In his Instagram post, Jax Taylor elaborated on his mental health and shared his diagnosis with his fans and followers. He then shed light on the future and added that he is focused on trying to be a "better version" of himself.

“It’s been a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however I’ve come home to my son with a new found sense of peace. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t scared for the future but my focus is just trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday,” he said.

Jax Taylor then concluded his post by thanking all his well-wishers for their kind wishes and support.

"Thank you everyone who has reached out in support and who also shared their own personal struggles with me. Your messages have helped me more than you know," he wrote.

Jax Taylor reportedly met a doctor in a sports bar

According to Page Six, Jax Taylor reportedly shared in his podcast When Reality Hits that he met a female doctor at a sports bar. He then had a breakdown, following which he talked about the mental health issues he was facing.

Taylor allegedly mentioned having anger issues and did not want his son to see him with a bad temper. While talking about mental health issues in the Forever Young Podcast on May 30, the actor said:

“I’m really really busy right now so I don’t really have time. It’s when I am sitting by myself that’s when it starts to get with me. I am looking into seeking some treatment but yeah, it’s taking a toll on me a lot more lately my anxiety, my stress.”

Jax Taylor also mentioned having difficulty talking to people. He said this was happening not only with his wife Brittany but also with his friends and family. However, it was not until September 2 that the reality TV star shared that he has PTSD and bipolar disorder.

Jax and Brittany's relationship

Jax Taylor has a three-year-old son Cruz with his ex-wife Brittany. They were married for almost five years. Earlier in August, Brittany filed for a divorce while citing ‘irreconcilable differences.’ She is seeking primary legal and physical custody of their son with visitation rights for Jax.

The couple's separation was announced in February. Speaking about this, Brittany previously said on her podcast that every day was different for her and Jax: they would hate each other one day and be best friends the next day.

Brittany mentioned that since she and Jax were staying and working together constantly, the lack of space added more tension to their conflicts. Even though they were together all the time, their fights did not cease.

Both Brittany and Jax have individually emphasized that their son Cruz is most important to them, and ensuring a stable life for him is their priority.
