UK's The Great British Bake Off season 15, also known as The Great British Baking Show in the United States of America, aired a new episode this week. The segment aired on Tuesday, October 8, on Channel 4 and saw the cast participate in a bread-centric theme.

The challenges of the week included the Signature Bake, during which the contestants had to make savory buns. In the following task, the Technical Challenge, bakers had to present a Seven-Strand Plaited Wreath followed by the Showstopper, a Bread Cornucopia Display.

While Dylan got the Star Baker, John was eliminated from the show. Many fans reacted to the contestant's elimination online.

"Very unlucky this week John. You will be missed," one person wrote on X.
"Sad John has gone. He was fast becoming a favorite of mine. But just not his week," a fan commented.
"Awww sad to see John go. I liked him," a tweet read.

Fans of The Great British Bake Off season 15 said John was a "really interesting" baker:

"Ah, I loved John. He was a really interesting & talented baker and an interesting guy. Will miss him lots," a user wrote.
"Absolutely had to be John who left, but gutted as he was such a lovely lovely man," a fan commented.
"To say that John has had a disastrous week would be an understatement. Unfortunately, that lackluster outing comes at a cost & that price to pay being... elimination. It's game over for John," a tweet read.

Many felt Andy should have been eliminated instead:

"Nelly was robbed and Andy should’ve gone out over John. I am FUMING," a person wrote.
"John? JOHN? AYFKM? Andy was far worse," a fan commented.

John gets eliminated from The Great British Bake Off season 15 episode 3

In The Great British Bake Off season 15 episode 3, titled Bread Week, the bakers competed in a bread-centric week. As part of the first challenge, they had to bake 12 identical savory buns as the judges looked for good structure, "nice stretchy dough," and good flavor.

John made Yamas! Savory Buns. As per Country & Town House, it was "slightly disappointing" as the buns had large steam pockets when opened.

Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith also pointed out the dry texture of The Great British Bake Off season 15 contestant's buns.

In the Technical challenge, the contestants didn't get a set of instructions to follow to make a Seven-Strand Plaited Wreath. Judge Paul Hollywood gave them a live demonstration on how to create the next dish. While Nelly came on top, John placed next to last in The Great British Bake Off season 15 task.

For the final challenge of the night, Showstopper, the bakers had to make a Bread Cornucopia Display. This had to include a solid horn-shaped sculpture, which had to be packed with two types of bread.

John's Horn of Pride cornucopia let him down and he was eliminated from the baking competition. Much like the contestants who left before him, the contestant penned down his final thoughts in a letter.

In the letter, The Great British Bake Off cast member said he had been a "fanboy" for 14 years. He added that while he thought he would make new friends while on the show, he ended up making a "Bake Off family" who he would "always treasure."

"If you have a dream, chase it and never give up. Stay strong and believe in yourself because I am proof that dreams really can come true. Sending you all love, laughs, and margs! John," he wrote.

The Great British Bake Off season 15 airs new episodes every Tuesday on Channel 4.
