"We have a crush on you too" — Angela Simmons responds to Oreo's official account reacting to her bathtub full of cookies post

Angela Simmons' recent Instagram post that showed her lying in a bathtub filled with Oreos officially gained the seal of approval from the cookie company. The post, uploaded to herald the collaboration between her bakery brand Angela's Cakes and Sl*tty Vegan, an Atlanta-based vegan restaurant chain, received much ridicule online when it was posted on July 9.

However, the official Oreo X account endorsed Simmons' post by uploading a meme of a bathtub filled with Oreos with the text, "Imagine hating me and i’m just at home doing this.”

Angela Simmons was quick to respond to the post, adding it to her Instagram stories with the caption:

“We have a crush on you too.”

Angela's initial post was parodied by several comedy content creators, including KevOnStage and LacBoi.

This is Angela Simmons' second collaboration with Sl*tty Vegan

According to The Source, Angela Simmons previously collaborated with Sl*tty Vegan's owner, Pinky Cole-Hayes, on Angela's Cakes, which is described as a "versatile and vegan pancake and waffle mix." The Oreo-themed product marks their second collaboration, which will see the cookie deep-fried in Angela's Cakes batter with oat milk as an added ingredient.

The limited edition deep-fried Oreos will debut at Sl*tty Vegan's New York outlets before expanding to the chain's other branches between July and September. Pinky Cole-Hayes also co-signed on the dish, adding that she was thrilled about the new addition to the chain's versatile vegan menu.

In an August 2023 interview with Forbes, Angela Simmons explained how she first collaborated with Cole-Hayes on Angela's Cakes. She said she had known the restaurant owner since she opened her first branch in Atlanta.

"We sat down and discussed business. She had an idea, I had an idea, and we came together to birth a masterpiece, Angela's Cakes. It's not just a funnel cake; it can be used as a pancake batter as well. It tastes very good, and it's easy to make at home. I'm proud of what we created," Simmons said.

Sl*tty Vegan is famously known for its plant-based vegan burgers, often called provocative names like Hollywood H**ker, One Night Stand, and Ménage à Trois, to name a few. The restaurant began its operations in Atlanta in 2018 and currently has over 11 locations throughout Georgia, New York City, Alabama, and Birmingham.

In a 2023 interview with The New Yorker, Pinky Cole-Hayes explained the ethos behind Sl*tty Vegan, saying:

“It’s not a vegan concept where we’re this glorified group that’s better than everybody else. I won’t sit here and tell you to eat Slutty Vegan every single day, all day. But I do want you to understand that veganism can be healthier, even if it starts with burgers and fries.”
