Laurel's take on Cara Maria's recent performance: The Challenge 40 task explained
The second episode of The Challenge 40, "The Era Invitational: Part 2," was released on August 21, 2024, on MTV. It featured Challengers arriving at the arena where the eliminations would be carried out. Initially, there were sixteen participants, from which eight winners would advance. The losers would be sent home.
Cara Maria Sorbello and KellyAnne Judd from Era 2 (seasons 11 to 20) competed in the "Take Shelter" challenge. They were given 20 minutes to use the provided building material and barricade their assigned bunker.
After 20 minutes, they switched bunkers and tried to break into each bunker. Participants who broke in first won the challenge while losing contestants went home.
The rest of the Challengers were excited to see who would win and who would go home. Seeing Cara Maria win the challenge, her long-time rival and fellow team member Laurel Stucky confessed that she and Cara Maria share a "very long-standing" relationship.
She also added that they were "definitely at odds." However, Laurel mentioned that there was a lot of "love" between her and Cara Maria. She said:
"But at the end of the day, Cara is definitely somebody that’s just huge in this game, and my decisions are being made based on what females I want to see in the final versus what females I don’t wanna see in the final."
Meanwhile, Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio, a fellow teammate from The Challenge 40, also confessed that Cara was coming back, and the big question was where they would go from there. Johnny said:
"Are we gonna continue cannibalizing our own team, or are we gonna start going into the other team? So, that’s the million dollar question, and I don’t think we’re gonna know what the morale of the team is gonna be until we figure that out."
