"We don’t feel sorry for you"— Summer House fans criticize Carl for breaking up with Lindsay

Summer House season 8 aired its season finale, titled Point of No Return, on Thursday, May 30, 2024. During the segment, Carl and Lindsay had a conversation about their relationship and Carl told his fiancée that he didn't want to continue their relationship.

The two got into a fight as Lindsay suggested they go to couples' therapy but Carl said he didn't want to "live" that way. He added that the Summer House cast member was not supportive of him and didn't want to have to beg her to be a certain way.

Fans of the Bravo show took to social media to chime in on the situation and criticized Carl Radke for his behavior towards his ex-girlfriend.

"Carl, we don’t feel sorry for you because you’re horrible. As much as the two of you fought, Lindsay was “blindsided” because she was willing to fight for the relationship. You did this maliciously, regardless of how much you say you didn’t. #summerhouse," one person wrote.

"Lindsay is a bigger person than me because I simply would look at this man and say, “AWWW DOES BABY CARL NEED A WITTLE HUGGY WUGGY FOR HIS BIG BOY JOBBY?” #SummerHouse," another person wrote.

"They are done filming at this point, Carl had to coordinate filming with production, not once (with his family), not twice (with Kyle), but three times (to end things with Lindsay) to complete this narrative that Lindsay is evil. He’s diabolical. #SummerHouse," a fan wrote.

Summer House season 8 fans defended Lindsay Hubbard and said that Carl didn't want to turn into "the next Sandoval":

"And there it is!!!!! Carl was sooooo concerned about turning into the next Sandoval (and giving Lindsay an Ariana-like arc) that he was doing everything in his power to try to activate her and make her break up w him first for MONTHS #summerhouse," one person wrote.

"Therapy is working for Lindsay bc I don't know how she hasn't flown off the handle with Carl sitting there pushing everyyyy button during their conversation #SummerHouse," another person wrote.

"Carl, Lindsay has been nothing but straightforward. She’s been the same Lindsay since day 1. The good and the bad. You have no backbone. It’s disgusting you say Lindsay WANTS you to relapse. YOU are the one that spins things. Good luck going back to work for Kyle #summerhouse," a fan wrote.

Summer House season 8 fans felt that it wasn't about being on either of the cast members' teams. They believed that the former couple rushed into things.

"This isn’t about being team Carl or Team Lindsay, this is about two people who rushed things and then realized they weren’t on the same place in life, so they started hurting each other. Good thing they didn’t go through with the wedding cuz… yikes.. #SummerHouse," a fan wrote.

"I agree 100% with Paige. Neither Carl nor Lindsay were good for each other and they needed two different type of people in their lives #SummerHouse," another fan wrote.

Carl breaks up with Lindsay in Summer House season 8 finale

In the season finale of Summer House season 8, Lindsay and Carl had a difficult conversation and the latter told his fiancée that he didn't want to continue their relationship.

"We are supposed to be married in two and a half months and I'm not ready to do that. I don't feel comfortable and I'm really unhappy. And I don't think our communication is going to improve."

Lindsay asked the Bravo celebrity what changed in the past two weeks and told him that her resolution wasn't to immediately break up when things weren't working out. Carl asked her "At what point" would they admit to loving one another but their relationship not working out?

Carl told her that their fights were not "normal" and he couldn't "live like that." Lindsay asked him what he wanted her to say since he had already made up his mind about calling off the wedding.

After the episode aired, fans took to social media and supported Lindsay. They noted that she had been clear about what she wanted from day one and said she had been supportive of Carl.
