The Real Housewives franchise host and executive producer, Andy Cohen, teased "something different" for the East Coast-based hit Bravo show.
After the season 14 reunion of The Real Housewives of New Jersey was canceled and switched to a two-group watch party, Cohen revealed on Monday, July 29, that the show is getting a reboot. When a radio caller for his show Andy Cohen Live on SiriusXM complained about the current "boring" storyline of the show, the host replied:
"Have you heard that we're gonna do big changes to the show? We are rebooting the show. We're gonna reboot it. We are going to do something different."
Andy Cohen's revelation about the reality show's future possibly getting a major makeover also teased an idea—all fresh faces for the next season. He told the caller:
"We're gonna see what we do, We'll see. I don't know. Maybe just all fresh faces."
The current RHONJ cast consists of the OG Teresa Giudice and her estranged sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, Rachel Fuda, Margaret Josephs, as well as Danielle Cabral and Jennifer Aydin, who got physical during the season finale. "Friends" Jennifer Fessler and Jackie Goldschneider are also part of the cast ensemble.
Andy Cohen previously said a RHONJ "rebrand" is possible
The Bravo head honcho's recent comment about a RHONJ reboot is not the first time he teased fans about a change in the future of the long-running Bravo reality series. During the July 15 episode of Andy Cohen Live when a radio caller asked him if it's not high time for the East Coast-based reality show to get a rebrand to get rid of all the "negativity." Andy Cohen replied, "I agree."
Cutting off the caller's rant about letting some cast members go and setting them "free," the host added:
"We're going to figure something out. We're all on the same page about that."
As for the RHONJ's current cast, Melissa Gorga already expressed her support for a show makeover. She told Page Six on July 22 that she's excited about the possibility of "fresh faces" coming to the show given that plenty of RHONJ season 14 cast members don't get along with each other anymore.
"I think we are due for some type of change. I don't know what kind of change, but I'm excited to see what happens. I am excited to see what's next and where this show goes from here," Melissa Gorga added.
That said, Melissa Gorga admitted that she hasn't heard any concrete news relating to what Bravo's plans are for the reality show.
If a full-cast reboot is to happen in RHONJ, it wouldn't be the first time in the franchise's history. The Real Housewives of New York has previously undergone a reboot after its chaotic 13th season.
