Love is Blind: UK released its reunion special on Netflix on Monday, August 26, 2024. The cast members who walked down the aisle gathered to reflect on their journey on the show and reveal if their relationship survived after the cameras stopped rolling. They were also joined by some members of the pod squad who revisited their experiences.

One cast member was Sam Klein, who joined hosts Matt and Emma Willis to discuss his time in the pods. He also analyzed what went wrong between him and his ex-fiancee, Nicole, which led to their eventual fallout.

In episode 8, during an argument, Sam told Benaiah that Nicole wanted to be intimate with him. When host Matt Willis asked Sam why he said that to Benaiah, the Love is Blind: UK cast member confessed that he said that in the heat of the moment. While he defended himself, Demi interjected and asked him to apologize to Nicole for being disrespectful.

Many Love is Blind: UK fans criticized Sam for his insensitive comment about Nicole and his lack of "remorse."

Love is Blind: UK star Sam regretted his actions on the show

Sam arrived at the reunion and confessed he received a lot of backlash for his comments on the show. He said that he wanted to utilize the opportunity to explain his standpoint. When Matt asked him why he said he was not going to "be able to pick up Nicole," the Love is Blind: UK cast member said that he didn't mean any harm with it and that he says "things out of nerves."

"I'm just a human. I say things out of nerves. I genuinely didn't mean any harm by it. I know I'm not a bad person. It was honestly just nervousness," Sam explained.

Hearing Sam's explanations, Nicole expressed her gratitude to her husband, Benaiah, for trying to warn her about Sam's ill intentions.

Sam was then asked to explain what he meant when he said, "I think I love you," to Nicole during the experiment. He noted that what he tried to say was not what he eventually said to the female cast member. While he professed his feelings to her, he admitted he "wasn't quite there." He explained that he was in the process of falling in love with her.

"So at that point in time, I couldn't stand there and say I am absolutely in love with this person," Sam said.

While discussing his remark about Nicole wanting to be intimate with him, he admitted he acted in the heat of the moment. He confessed that he felt "blindsided" by Benaiah's cold behavior and said what he said. However, he wished none of that "ever took place."

As he continued, Demi stopped him and asked him to apologize to Nicole as his comments were disrespectful to the latter.

"Sam, say "I'm sorry" to Nicole, please. It was disrespectful what you said."

Nicole added that not only was his remark disrespectful but it also was "a lie." The Love is Blind: UK star Sam apologized to Nicole and hoped they could move on from that incident.
