"We will miss you" — Survivor season 47 fans react to Genevieve's elimination

Season 47 of Survivor released the first part of the finale on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. The episode saw the elimination of two castaways, while the remaining four advanced to the last leg of the competition. After Andy's surprising eviction, Genevieve found herself bidding farewell to the show, despite winning immunity earlier in the episode.

Genevieve's immunity shielded her at the first Tribal Council, however, after losing it to Rachel in the second immunity challenge, Genevieve knew she was at risk of going home. Both Genevieve and Rachel considered each other their biggest targets and openly challenged one another to present their best game.

Having lost immunity, Genevieve tried to strategize and trick the other players into believing her fake idol story. However, at this stage of the competition, players were highly suspicious of each other. Consequently, Genevieve's strategy failed to come to fruition and sent her home.

Survivor season 47 fans were disheartened by her elimination. They took to X to express their disappointment, applauding her for the game she played on the show.

"I am truly grateful for this absolute queen to have graced our screens. Her story has been so captivating to watch, from someone no one knew was in the game to an absolute force to be reckoned with. We will miss you," a fan wrote.

"Genevieve played one of the best games in the new era, survivor 50 can’t happen without her," a netizen tweeted.

Many Survivor fans were upset to see a strong contender like Genevieve leave. They hoped she was recast for season 50 of the survivalist series.

"The fact that Genevieve almost got out of that AGAIN speaks to how much of an amazing player she is. Always will be a Survivor legend to ME. BRING HER BACK FOR 50 IM BEGGING," a user reacted.

"Genevieve brought back the meaning of ice queen with a touch of humor and played ruthlessly! Mother will be missed but see you on Survivor 50," a person commented.

"It is a little consoling that her elimination vote wasn’t a slam dunk… it isn’t easy to vote out a legend!" another fan wrote.

Other Survivor fans expressed a similar sentiment.

Survivor season 47 star Genevieve becomes the 7th member of the jury

Even after Andy's elimination, Genevieve continued to trick everyone into believing that her immunity idol was real. She hoped to use it as leverage and protect herself at the Tribal Council. While speaking to the cameras, the castaway confessed that her biggest target was Rachel. She also mentioned that they openly strategized against one another.

In one of the segments of the episode, Rachel asked Genevieve to name a player who could win the show if neither of them made it to the final three. Genevieve believed Sam had the potential to subvert opposing strategies and leave the competition victorious. Meanwhile, Rachel and Genevieve's command over the game bothered Sam, Teeny, and Sue, who wanted them to get eliminated.

After Rachel won immunity, the tribe returned to camp to prepare for the coming Tribal Council. Sam betrayed Genevieve and told Teeny that Genevieve's idol was fake. Teeny conveyed the news to Sue and Rachel, who remained doubtful. They assumed it was another one of Sam and Genevieve's tricks to influence the votes.

However, Genevieve confirmed that her idol was fake, surprising Teeny. Having come clean, she hoped Sue, Rachel, and Teeny would turn against Sam. While Rachel and Teeny were convinced the idol was real, Sue suspected Genevieve of foul play.

With conflicting beliefs, the castaways arrived at the Tribal Council. After some discussion, the players cast their votes. Teeny and Genevieve voted against Sam, whereas Rachel, Sam, and Sue voted against Genevieve.

With three votes in her name, Genevieve became the fourteenth player to be eliminated and the seventh member of the jury.
