"Well done" — The Challenge fans react to Kyland eliminating Devin

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras aired episode 9 on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. The segment saw the teams compete in another daily challenge followed by another elimination arena task that sent two people home.

Rachel Robinson, the only standing member of Era 1 was a target by default. The other targets after the previous elimination were Ryan and Laurel from Era 2, Devin and Tori from Era 3, and Kyland and Kaycee from Era 4.

Rachel won the daily task while Devin and Tori competed against Kaycee and Kyland in the elimination task. The male Era 4 contestant eliminated Devin while the Era 3 female contestant eliminated Kaycee from the MTV show.

Fans of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras reacted to Kyland eliminating Devin online and praised the Era 4 cast member's performance. One person wrote on X:

Fans of The Challenge season 40 said Kyland "destroyed" Devin:

"As atrocious as Devin was, Kyland went in and won another elimination! Including Challenge USA, Kyland is now 7-2 in eliminations and has 4 wins over Champions, most of which have been blowouts! With some big names out, he's moving up the contender list," a fan commented.

"HAHAHAHA not Devin getting 2 and Kyland getting 38," a tweet read.

Fans of The Challenge: Battle of the Eras added that "entertainment won" on the episode.

"The Vacation Alliance is getting a taste of their own medicine. Rachel giving them their karma by putting them against each other. We are losing two of Kaycee, Tori, Devin and Kyland in this episode. Entertainment won tonight," a person wrote.

"Kyland got a clean victory"— The Challenge: Battle of the Eras star Devin comments on his elimination

In The Challenge: Battle of the Eras episode 9, Devin competed against Kyland in Cable Connection Showdown. As part of the elimination task, the players had to untangle and connect intertwined cables to light up a motherboard. The motherboard would light up logos of all seasons of the MTV show so far.

The Era 4 player, Kyland defeated Devin and eliminated the season 38 winner from the MTV show. After his elimination, Devin spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the events of the latest episode and praised Kyland's performance.

"I did not have it. I went up against someone who was completely dialed in, so Kyland got a clean victory. There's no taking anything away from it," he said.

The Challenge season 40 contestant added that one had to be "graceful" while winning and losing, and Devin was "graceful in an epic defeat." Chiming in on the elimination task further, the cast member said that he would have beaten "99 percent of planet Earth" in that task but his competition against Kyland was a "blowout."

Commenting on his time on the franchise, he said his "elimination record" was "outstanding." Devin Walker added that he was one of the few contestants with a "winning elimination record" who still participated in The Challenge. He said that he had won a championship, and two other reality shows and didn't feel he had a lot left to prove.

"This does not define my Challenge legacy."

Season 40 fans commented on Devin's elimination online and praised Kyland's performance during the elimination task.
