Season 47 of Survivor aired episode 12 on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. Titled Operation: Italy, the episode saw another unexpected elimination after a newly formed alliance pulled the strings to advance in the competition. Andy joined forces with Sam and Genevieve to vote off Rachel. However, they faced a hurdle when Rachel won immunity.

The trio then shifted their attention to Caroline, assuming she was the easiest target. Although their initial plan had failed, they successfully eliminated Caroline, securing their places in the final six.

Andy, Sam, and Genevieve narrated a false story and built a fake idol to convince the other castaways of their plan. Finally, the trio convinced the four remaining players— Caroline, Rachel, Sue, and Teeny— to split their votes. That way, the trio had the majority votes at the tribal council.

Survivor season 47 fans were impressed by Andy, Sam, and Genevieve's gameplay in the latest episode. They commended them for pulling off a split vote, despite the risks of it going south. Netizens also praised their act of tricking the castaways into believing Genevieve or Sam had a secret idol. They took to X to express their views.

"The fact that Genevieve/Sam/Andy pulled that vote off with no advantages is EXACTLY how you play Survivor!! They had nothing but a complex strategy and kept their wits. That's all. That will be a LEGENDARY Survior move. Well done trio," a fan wrote.
"When a vote is won by social and strategic play instead of Advantages," another fan commented.

Many Survivor fans applauded Sam, Andy, and Genevieve's strategies.

"The Andy/Genevieve/Sam trio just pulled off one of the most impressive votes (3-2-2) of the entire franchise. They were armed with nothing but their wits and their strategic chops and they came out on top against literally all odds. God-tier TV," a user reacted.
"Sam and Genevieve pretending to consider playing the idol to prevent other advantages from being played, on top of that blindside. Absolute Cinema. ANDY IS A REAL CONTENDER BTW," a person commented.
"andy, genevieve, and sam = golden trio of #survivor47," another fan wrote.
"One of the best tribal councils I've seen in a very long time! Who would have thought Andy was such a genius? Sam and Genevieve played their roles perfectly, too. Teeny's a brat and Sue is mean," one X user posted.

Other Survivor fans complimented the trio, calling them "iconic."

"Andy, Genevieve, and Sam is such an iconic trio omg I need all of their plans to come to fruition," a person reacted.
"andy genevieve and sam are like the evil stepsisters of this endgame," another netizen commented.

"That was Andy" — Survivor star Sol recognizes the mastermind of 'Operation Italy'

After the players returned to camp from Kyle's elimination, Sam and Genevieve noted that there was an alliance they were not a part of. Although they felt excluded, they knew they could pull some strings to turn the game around. Meanwhile, Andy weighed his options, contemplating which side to support.

After a while, Genevieve approached Teeny and told her they needed to vote off Rachel because she threatened everyone. However, Teeny was not on board with the plan and revealed to the cameras that she wanted Sam and Genevieve out next.

With no advantages or allies, Sam, Genevieve, and Andy knew they had to try a different strategy to stay in the competition. When Sam won the reward challenge, he invited Andy and Genevieve to share the meal.

During their time at the sanctuary, Andy informed Genevieve and Sam about the 'Underdog Alliance' and Rachel's block vote advantage. Consequently, the trio hatched a plan to blindside Rachel and named it 'Operation Italy.'

The Survivor players planned to convince the others at camp to split their votes. That way, the decision to vote Rachel out would rest in the hands of the trio. After returning from the sanctuary, Andy told the rest that Sam and Genevieve were playing against him and attempting to target him. He also implied that either of them possessed an idol.

Meanwhile, Genevieve and Sam constructed a fake idol using beads and other items. Although Teeny was unconvinced, she bought their story when Genevieve showed it briefly. Caroline, whose target was Sam, also believed Andy's lies and agreed to split the vote.

However, 'Operation Italy' was compelled to shift its target to Caroline after Rachel secured immunity.

At the Tribal Council, Sam asked Genevieve to play her fake idol just so that Rachel and Sue would not play theirs. When Rachel contemplated using her block vote advantage, Andy advised her to save it for next week. Finally, the Survivor castaways cast their votes, eliminating Caroline.

Teeny and Sue voted against Sam, whereas Caroline and Rachel voted to eliminate Genevieve. With the votes split into two groups, the trio now had the majority. Andy, Sam, and Genevieve voted to evict Caroline, making her the 12th member eliminated from the show. Meanwhile, jury member, Sol realized that the whole plan was Andy's.

"That was Andy. Andy flipped again," Sol said.

Survivor airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET only on CBS.
