"What a clown"- Love is Blind UK fans react to Nicole choosing Sam

Love is Blind UK season 1 premiered on Netflix this week on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, and saw the group of 30 singles make romantic connections and seemingly fall blindly in love. As per the format, these singles interact in pods that restrict them from seeing one another.

This ensures that any superficial and materialistic distractions are eliminated from the process of finding the person, the cast members end up marrying by the end of the show.

One cast member, Nicole, however, bonded with two contestants while in the pods. Since the first episode, the female participant expressed an interest in both Sam and Benaiah but was conflicted about whom to choose.

Despite being warned by Benaiah about Sam's intentions, and Jasmine telling the cast member that she and Ben were more suited for one another, Nicole chose Sam.

Fans of the Netflix show reacted to the two getting engaged in episode 3 and were conflicted in their opinion. While they were upset by Sam's behavior in general, they were disappointed with Nicole for choosing the cast member. One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter):

Love is Blind UK fans noted that Sam's "red flags were glaring."

Love is Blind UK fans further expressed concern for Nicole and commented how Jasmine was able to see right through him.

Benaiah warns Nicole about Sam in Love is Blind UK season 1 episode 2

In Love is Blind UK season 1 episode 2, Sam returned from a date with Nicole and made a comment that didn't sit well with the female cast member's other love interest, Benaiah. Contemplating whether he should tell Nicole about Sam's comment or not.

Upon returning from a date with Nicole, Sam told some of the male cast members that he and Nicole talked about what they would do when they would meet. At the time, Sam said he was going to pick the Love is Blind UK cast member up and Nicole joked that he won't be able to.

"Yeah, she just said one weird thing though. It was so weird," he said.

Tom asked what it was as Ollie joined the conversation. He told the two that he told her that he couldn't wait to run down, "meet her, kiss her."

"Nicole freaked out, and she was like, "Oh my God. Yeah, me too. But like, oh, you might not be able to," he added.

Jordan asked whether Nicole meant he wouldn't be able to pick her up while Sam wondered whether Nicole was "implying something" and speculated about her appearance. He said:

"Like was she implying something, I like meat, but, like that's fine if someone's a bit like, but that's a weird thing to say."

After overhearing the conversation, Benaiah wondered if he should warn Nicole about the Love is Blind UK cast member since he didn't want to sabotage their relationship. However, he later decided to warn her and told Nicole that he didn't think Sam had good intentions.

Despite the conversation in episode 2, Nicole chose Sam, and the two got engaged in episode 3. Fans of the show took to social media to react to the segment and were critical of Nicole's decision.
