On an episode of Tia Mowry: My Next Act, which began on September 20, Tia Mowry shed light on many aspects of her life, including her bond with her twin sister Tamera and even her divorce from Cory Hardrict.
While talking about the divorce, Mowry revealed that she wished she could call her sister and talk to her. Shortly after that, Tia explained that they weren't that close anymore. She further mentioned that the hardest part of the divorce was feeling lonely. She added:
"I wish that my sister and I were still close."
For the unversed, Tia and Tamera gained popularity after being a part of the 1994 sitcom Sister, Sister. The duo further continued to work together in movies and TV series. Over the years, they began getting chances in comparatively smaller commercials. On the show, Tia stated that she simply "wasn't close" to her twin.
Mowry further spoke about Tamera:
"I came into this world with a twin. And right after that, I went into a 22-year relationship, so I have never been alone in my life."
The two sisters were born in July 1978, in West Germany. The duo had also starred in the Disney Channel Original Movie Twitches. While Mowry mentioned that she wasn't that close to her sister anymore, no particular reason was revealed.
Tia Mowry previously revealed what led her to file for divorce from her former husband
Back in November 2022, Mowry appeared on The Today Show and spoke about her decision to file a divorce from her now former husband. She mentioned how she got to understand that it was time for her to move on. In the interview, she also said:
"I knew when I really started to focus on my happiness. I feel like women, we tend to focus on everybody else’s happiness, making sure that everybody else is OK — meaning our children, our friends, our family — but at the end of the day, it’s about self-love."
While the relationship didn't work, Mowry still described that she had a successful one. She mentioned:
"It’s not about staying in something because however long you are in that situation that equals success. It’s about really, again, are you happy? Because life is really short."
She continued by stating that the most difficult part that she had to adapt was possibly dropping her children at their father's house. While mentioning that she didn't have a close bond with her sister anymore, she caught up with her friend Natasha Marc and spoke about her healing journey. Mowry added:
"I feel that right now, yes, I’m vulnerable in my life, but it’s the first time where I am actually realizing that I have a choice."
She further got emotional while talking about her journey during and post the divorce. Mowry's show's executive producers include Tia Mowry, Adam Griffin and Erin Richard. PEOPLE reported that it would air on Oct. 4 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT on We TV.
