The coveted show The Braxtons has made it to episode 7 of season 1 on September 20. The episode, titled Lights, Camera, Braxtons!, saw the family posing in a photoshoot for the marketing of their show. While sisters Toni, Towanda, Trina, and their mother Evelyn came together to pose for their marketing campaign, Tamar decided to go to LA to shoot her seperate marketing campaign.
She didn't attend the family photoshoot for The Braxtons and took to a confessional to tell viewers why she didn't feel connected to the production and was only continuing on the show to commemorate her late sister Traci.
The confessional flashed back to her time on the We Sound Crazy podcast three weeks ago. Talking about the same, Tamar said she suffered mentally from playing a character on the show and added that she wouldn't have been on the show if not for Traci.

Fans of The Braxtons, came to X to express their thoughts on this. Some criticized Tamar for opting out of the family photoshoot, while others called her out for being on the show after saying she didn't want to be on the show multiple times.
"What was the point of Tamar doing her own shoot?!?!" wrote a fan.
"Umm Tamar really still could’ve went to the LA shoot. She just has to be cordial. Why she had to do her own marketing shoot?" wrote another fan.
"I remember Tamar saying she’d never do reality tv again.. yet here we are lol. Can’t say you feel ‘disconnected’ yet you’re distancing yourself from the production and your sisters for the marketing shoot.. hm, okay!" another added.
"I feel like this is uncool for Tamar to do a separate photo shoot," said one fan.
Some of The Braxtons fans were also after her for saying she didn't want to be on the show because she was playing someone she wasn't.
"Tamar ma’am either shit or get off the pot. Do the show or leave it completely…these games are too much," an X user said.
"Here's the thing. If TAMAR had reservations about returning to the show then why even come back to the show to any capacity?" said another user.

The photoshoot day on episode 7 of The Braxtons season 1
Before Trina and Towana went to the photoshoot, they went to the salon together and waited for Mother Evelyn to join them. Towanda revealed that Evelyn had gone on a date and that she couldn't wait to ask her how it went. When she arrived she shared that the man she was on a date with came wearing purple from head to bottom, which put her off.
At the photoshoot venue, Toni was asked in the confessional, how she felt about Tamar not being there. She said, Tamar was in the middle of a "crazy" work schedule and was juggling it with her mom's duties, so she understood why she couldn't make it,
She added that it wasn't the same without Traci or Tamar because they brought laughter and fun which would make time fly. Tamar on the other hand, said that she felt connected to her family but was disconnected by the production.
