Season 26 of The Voice released a new episode on Monday, October 14, 2024. The segment saw the return of Camryn Brooks, a 24-year-old singer who first appeared in season 21 of the competition series. Camryn was evicted from her debut season after she failed to make a single coach turn their chair for her.

In the latest episode, Camryn wowed the coaches with her unique rendition of Light On by Maggie Rogers. She felt overwhelmed when her performance earned her a rare four-chair turn. Unlike her previous appearance, she was left with the decision to select a coach as her mentor. After much deliberation, Camryn decided to join Team Gwen.

The Voice fans took to X to comment on Camryn's performance. While many applauded the singer's successful return to the show, a few felt that her performance was sub-par.

"What a rebound for Camryn. She auditioned in Season 21, but did not get a chair turn. Now, she got a #4ChairTurn," a fan wrote.
"I remember when Camryn was on the show before. She came back this season and made it!" a netizen tweeted.

Many The Voice fans praised Camryn's return and complimented her singing skills. They also congratulated her on joining Team Gwen.

"Camryn Brooks returning to #TheVoice #VoiceBlinds sounding so steady and confident, handling those intervals like a pro. This was so joyous and free. She was so cute celebrating her 4-chair even before the song was over. Congrats!!!" a user reacted.
"That was an incredible performance by camryn brooks, It was one of the best performances of the night during the blind auditions this week," a person commented.
"There we go!!! Camyrn made it!!" another fan wrote.
"Camryn brooks is joining #teamgwen," a user tweeted.

At the same time, some fans of The Voice were unimpressed by Camryn's audition. They claimed she sounded like "a lot of other singers." One netizen stated that others deserved the four chair-turn over Camryn.

"Camryn. I was not impressed. She also sounded like a lot of other singers," a person reacted.
"Camryn got four chairs... Dahlia should have too!!!" a netizen commented.

What did the judges say about Camryn Brooks' performance on The Voice season 26?

Camryn's season 26 audition performance earned her a four-chair turn from the coaches. It was a great achievement for the California native considering all she had been through since she auditioned for season 21. After she failed the auditions in 2021, she was diagnosed with myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle.

However, she overcame the adversity and left a lasting impression on the coaches with her cover of Maggie Rogers' Light On. Coach Snoop Dogg was wowed by Camryn's voice, tone, composure, and overall stage presence. He complimented her resilience, congratulating her for successfully returning to the show.

"We say it all the time; we try to say the right words to make people feel comfortable with coming back - you're the perfect example of that," Snoop Dogg said.

The Voice coach Michael tried to convince Camryn to join his team by bonding with her over their love for their respective national anthems. Both revealed they were inspired to sing after being introduced to their national anthems as a child. However, Michael's tactics failed to yield the outcome he wanted.

Coach Gwen, the first to turn for Camryn, successfully influenced the contestant to join her team. She praised Camryn's tonal quality and said:

"There are so many singers that are good. But there's certain ones that just touch you because of their tone, or just little 'taste' things that they do - or, they might remind you of the '70s and the singer-songwriters you grew up with. And that's what I was feeling from you."

The Voice coach added she would listen to Camryn's "voice on a record." She looked forward to working with her "warm, emotional voice." Impressed by Gwen's pitch, Camryn chose her as her coach.

The Voice season 26 airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 pm ET only on NBC.
