Internet personality Kim Kardashian recently celebrated Christmas with her daughter North West. On Tuesday, December 24, 2024, or Christmas Eve, Kardashian took to her joint TikTok account with North to share a video of the latter dancing to Ariana Grande's 2014 track Santa Tell Me.
The video shows North dancing and lipsyncing perfectly to Ariana's high notes. Later in the video, the 11-year-old pulls her mother to dance along.
As the video went viral, internet users were quick to criticize Kim Kardashian for North West's outfit. Under Pop Base's post about the same, one X user stated:
"Isn't North like 11? Put some clothes on her, why she dressed like ice spice."
Many continued to call out North West's clothes, particularly her short skirt. One even recalled the criticism Beyoncé faced for her daughter's gown at the premiere of Mufasa. Here are some other comments seen on X:
"She’s literally 11 years old this is so creepy to post online ew," a user wrote.
"I liked it better when North wore baggy clothes instead of dressing like her mother and aunts," another remarked.
"But when blue wore a ball gown, every auntie was losing their minds," one person commented.
Others came to the 11-year-old's defense, stating people needed to stop s*xualizing children.
"North outfit is so cute lol," a netizen reacted.
"It’s actually funny that children are expected to cover. Why are you s*xualizing a child?" another questioned.
"Y’all in the comments need to stfu on celebrities kids and what they wear it’s not your child nor your business," one X user stated.
Kim Kardashian and North West celebrated Christmas Eve with a "low-key party" with family
Kim Kardashian and North West's TikTok video shows Kim wearing a skintight Norma Kamali snake-print turtleneck dress, paired with pointed snakeskin boots. Meanwhile, North wore a white corset and a black mini skirt, paired with a black tie, cropped blazer, and knee-high boots.
According to a December 25 report by Page Six, sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner both donned white outfits. The former wore a silk Phoebe Philo gown, while the latter was in a sequined Saint Laurent dress. Khloe Kardashian, however, skipped the celebration, as her children True and Tatum were sick.
In a December 15 interview with Vogue, during the grand opening of a Skims store in NYC, Kim revealed that they were opting for an "intimate" party this year, unlike their previous boisterous ones. She stated:
"We’re doing a really low-key Christmas Eve party this year. Just because we have a lot of construction going on, so, we're doing a really family intimate one that I'm really excited about."
The media personality added that they would still be "dressing up to the nines." She further noted that it didn't mean the "legendary" parties were scrapped for good, as she explained that their "kids love them," and that even the kids' friends want to attend those parties.
Kim Kardashian has not publicly reacted to the comments on North West's outfit as of this writing.
