Tommie Lee has been arrested multiple times before
On Monday early morning, Tommie Lee, whose real name is Atasha Jefferson, was arrested outside a nightclub at 4441 Collins Avenue, Miami, on a battery charge. The 39-year-old Atlanta-based rapper and reality TV star allegedly approached an unidentified man in the building’s security area suddenly “in a very close proximity” and tried to hand him something.
However, when the stranger refused, she reportedly turned violent, first verbally and then physically. When things escalated, the alleged victim restrained her by holding her arms behind her back until the cops arrived and took him into custody.
As per the arrest report, Tommie Lee cursed, threatened to get the man killed, waved her hands near his face, and later poked him in the face. Witnesses confirmed the incident, and security footage was also obtained as part of the ongoing investigation.
Initially, Jefferson was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center but was later moved to the Miami-Dade County Jail. Her mugshot has now gone viral.
Tommie Lee, a former cast member on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta (a guest role in the pilot season and a supporting role until season 5), claimed on the show in 2016 that she had been arrested nearly 30 times in the past.
Her most recent arrest took place in August 2023 on charges of disorderly conduct and cocaine possession with an intent to sell after she allegedly fought with a restaurant employee in Miami.
However, her representative dismissed the accusations and claimed that the “drugs” in question were actually epilepsy medication for her friend who was accompanying her.
In January 2019, she reportedly shoved her kid’s head into a metal locker and dragged her by the hair inside the latter’s school. She was indicted on multiple felony charges, including aggravated assault, child cruelty, battery, aggravated stalking, and disrupting a public school. Before that, in October 2018, she faced similar charges for allegedly assaulting her child in her middle school.
Around the same time, she was also taken into custody for obstructing an officer of the law and aggravated stalking of her daughter, despite past warnings of not making contact with her.
Born in New Jersey in June 1984, Jefferson was raised by a single mother in Atlanta alongside multiple siblings. She began her career as a concert publicist until she joined the reality series Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta in 2012.
