“Work it out”- Love After Lockup fans divided over Yona not letting her daughter go to Zeruiah’s house

In season 5, episode 40 of Love After Lockup, titled Exes and Oh No's, Troy finally meets his 7-year-old daughter, Troii. Viewers also meet Yona, Troy's baby mama, who caused tension between Troy and Zeruiah in previous episodes.

Earlier, Yona mentioned Zeruiah's cheating on Troy while he was in prison, which angered Zeruiah. However, when Zeruiah met Troii, she was kind and told her to ask for anything she needed.

When Troy asked Yona if he could take Troii to live with them for a few days, Yona responded with a firm no. She told him she would allow Troii to stay with them after he got to know Zeruiah himself. She called Zeruiah a "stranger" and said she didn't trust her enough to let her daughter live with her.

Fans of Love After Lockup flocked to X to react to Yona's reaction. Some were for it, while others thought it was unfair.

"Yona & Zehuriah should have had a grown woman conversation. But they playing little girl games. She-said, He-said, she said. Ridiculous!! Troy is married & he has a child that may very well be around his wife. Work it out," said one fan.

"First of all Yona, what you’re teaching your daughter is to disrespect adults. That is wrong! Yona is giving hater & jealous vibes. She mad Troy didn’t pick her. Girl, move around with that mess. Can’t stand women like that," said another fan.

"What type of mother tells their child that they don’t have to be nice to an adult??? Troy needs his *ss whooped for having a child with that bird brain *ss baby mama, Yona," a third fan said.

"I'm late to the party. But Yona is the reason I would never date a man with kids. These baby mama's be feeling entitled," another one said.

There was a set of Love After Lockup fans who agreed with Yona's decision because they thought Zeruiah's demeanor indeed wasn't fit for a child to be raised around.

"I agree with Yona. Any woman who can't have a conversation with me should not be around my child, period!!" an X user wrote.

"FINALLY a parent on this show who won't let their child around strangers! I respect Yona for that, even though Z isn't the one getting out of jail, she is still a stranger to her daughter," another user said.

"Yona isn't wrong fr. She's trying to protect her child. Any decent mom would. She's not being messy," a comment read.

"I 100% stand by Yona’s choice to not have Zeuriah around her daughter alone. We’ve all seen the way she acts," another comment read.

Zeruiah's reaction to Yona not letting Troii stay with her on Love After Lockup season 5 episode 40

After Yona argued that Zeruiah was a stranger and Troy just met her in the real world, Troy conveyed the same to Zeruiah, in Love After Lockup. He told her he agreed to disagree with Yona because he didn't want any beef with her and that he could sense that she was "trying to be messy".

Zeruiah heard what Troy had to say and was okay with whatever he did. The duo then hugged and kissed as Troy rhetorically asked her if she trusted him. She then took to a Love After Lockup confessional to say that she was "playing it cool" because she didn't want to spoil his day. Troy's mom Karen was happy the two didn't interact and break into a fight.
