Netflix's catalog has various reality shows including Love Is Blind that have been able to engage reality TV audiences worldwide. The show has produced over 7 seasons and multiple spin-offs in different countries.
The show follows multiple singles who enter the pods to find a life partner. While 6 couples were able to form during this process, by the time the finale was over, only 2 couples got happily married when they said "I do" at the altar.
Marissa and Ramses were one of the couples who broke up before the wedding ceremony due to various trials and tribulations in their relationship. Ramses expressed concerns regarding the failure of his previous marriage and ultimately decided to end things despite an emotional Marissa begging him to stay.
The moment was well talked about among not only the fans but also Love Is Blind alums. Season 2 participants Natalie Lee and Deepti Vempati host a podcast, Out of the Pods, where the two deep-dive into the reality TV world.
They teased their take on Marissa and Ramses' split in a snippet from the episode set to be released on October 28, 2024.
"That was the worst breakup I've ever seen on a TV show," quipped Natalie.
Deepti agreed with Natalie's take on the situation and revealed that she felt devastated for Marissa and just "wanted to give her a big hug."
Natalie believes Marissa was overseeing Ramses' red flags on Love Is Blind
Natalie and Deepti are no strangers to the drama that comes with taking part in the Love Is Blind experiment. They both walked the aisle in the show but ultimately decided to not get married to their respective partners. This experience helped them empathize with Marissa who tried her best to keep the relationship afloat.
The two podcast hosts mentioned Marissa's October 23 interview with Glamour where the latter mentioned that she offered Ramses to take his time and think about coming back into the relationship which he declined.
Natalie and Deepti both expressed grief but Natalie claimed that she also felt relieved for Marissa as she was probably not seeing all the bad signs during the relationship.
"You know what? He did the best thing for her because I feel like she was seeing beyond all these red flags."
She further stated that she was not a big fan of Ramses and his behavior in the show:
"I think it would have taken her a really long time to walk away on her own and I'm so glad he walked away from her because he does not deserve her in the slightest. Ugh, he gives me the ick.
What happened between Marissa and Ramses during the show?
Ramses and Marissa's Love Is Blind season 7 journey was not unusual as they both tried to mingle with different individuals in hopes of finding love. They found themselves in a love triangle early on, as Marissa was confused between Bohdan and Ramses. She eventually chose Ramses and the couple stayed strong through the honeymoon process.
Ramses put himself forward as a man in touch with his emotions but the two clashed about the topic of military. Marissa being an ex-veteran felt strongly about her fellow soldiers while Ramses was not shy about being against the whole regime. They also had a brewing conflict regarding birth control as Ramses was against it.
Later on in Love Is Blind, they also had different views when it came to birth control and physical intimacy. Despite all that, the couple pushed through all the problems, but days before the wedding, Ramses decided to end things as he felt Marissa was "too much" for him to handle. The couple bid farewell to each other while an emotional Marissa threw her ring on the floor.
