The Challenge: Battle of the Eras aired episode 6 this week on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, and the four Eras competed for another chance at immunity. Given her conflict with Laurel Stucky the previous week, Cara Maria Sorbello contemplated performing poorly to send her team member into elimination but decided against it.

Although she played fairly, Era 4 won the task, which gave Josh and Jenny the power to pick who would compete against Era 1 contestants Brad and Rachel. While Laurel was still an option, they chose Cory and Jonna instead.

The Challenge season 40 episode 6: What happened during the Daily challenge?

The Challenge: Battle of the Eras aka season 40 episode 6 started with the following targets: Brad and Rachel from Era 1, Johnny Bananas and Laurel from Era 2, Cory and Jonna from Era 3, and Josh and Jenny from Era 4.

After much deliberation about who to target, the season 40 cast went for their next daily challenge, titled, Cloud Catcher. During the challenge, the three players from each team had to guide a helium balloon through a dirt course and a pergola while using sharp grooves.

After collecting all their balloons, they had to solve a riddle. The team that finished the riddle with the most number of balloons and in the least amount of time, would win.

Cara Maria Sorbello, who was part of Era 3, considered "throwing" the challenge to send her rival Laurel Stucky, into elimination. However, she eventually decided against it as she didn't want to stoop that low. In the task, while Era 3 finished first, the rules mentioned that the team with the most balloons would win.

After the task was completed, host TJ Lavin revealed that Era 4, won the task. This gave Josh and Jenny the power to select which target would compete against Era 1, the team that lost the daily task.

Fans reacted to Era 3's gameplay during the latest episode and reacted to Cara Maria not wanting to throw the task. While some praised her for having integrity, others criticized her.
