Season 23 of Hell's Kitchen released its latest episode on Thursday, October 17, 2024. Episode 4, titled In a Pickle, featured a guest appearance by Michelin-starred Chef Dan Barber. He joined Gordon Ramsey to judge the chefs' pickling challenge.

Egypt emerged victorious in the challenge, defeating opponent Meghan and leading the Blue Team to victory. However, when it was the Red Team's turn to process cow manure as a part of their punishment, Whit used her Punishment Pass to switch places with Egypt. The Blue Team was pleased with the switch-up since they were not fond of Egypt's demeanor.

Later in the episode, Egypt struggled with the appetizers, making several mistakes. Despite noticing his faults, Lulu chose not to alert him. Although other chefs made more mistakes during the dinner service, the Blue Team nominated Egypt for elimination. Even though he survived, fans were not pleased by the treatment meted out to him.

Hell's Kitchen fans took to X to comment on the Blue Team's behavior in the latest episode. They alleged that Egypt's presence threatened the team, who seemed to target him.

"they wanna get rid of Egypt so bad! yall threatened?!" a fan wrote.
"Poor Egypt dude, first he gets the short end of the stick with his team now he gets scr*wed out of his first reward," a netizen tweeted.

Hell's Kitchen fans criticized the Blue Team's treatment of Egypt. They claimed he did not deserve to get nominated for elimination.

"Of course they nominate Egypt - he would be their salvation if they let him. And Lulu has value too. The rest are just a-holes," a user reacted.
"Egypt? Really? Cowards!" a person commented.
"So Lulu being loud/vocal the blue team loves, but when Egypt does it they tell him he needs to "tone it down". The blue teams needs to just admit they're intimidated by Egypt," another fan wrote.
"Putting Egypt up for elimination over Joe is crazy!!! Egypt had ONE dish sent back, but Joe sent up raw meat at least 4 times!! What is wrong with the blue team!!" a user tweeted.

One Hell's Kitchen fan noted how the Blue Team treated Lulu differently than Egypt even though she was not a part of their original team.

"The blue team is now communicating and talking back to Lulu when they just had a conversation about being less vocal. Imma need them to just say they hate Egypt," a fan commented.

Other Hell's Kitchen fans sympathized with Egypt.

"I'm starting to see how people of color are immediately labeled as "too much" and "loud". I'm on Egypt's side," one netizen commented.
"The blue team may have a vendetta against Egypt, but I know the big guy has what it takes to go far. Don’t let them get to you man. They’re all a bunch of haters Having Anger Towards Everyone Reaching Success," another person reacted.

What happened with Egypt on Hell's Kitchen season 23 episode 4?

After returning to their dorm, the Blue Team expressed concern about Egypt's ego in the kitchen. They were unimpressed by how he conducted himself. As a result, Egypt swore that he would "tone it down," but hoped his team would enhance their performance in response.

Before the pickling challenge began, Chef Gordon Ramsay asked a member from the Red Team to join the Blue Team to even the number of people. Although many volunteered, Lulu was chosen since she was the first to respond.

Egypt was pitted against Meghan from the Red Team. They had pineapple and salmon as their ingredients for the pickle. After a grueling competition, the chefs presented their dishes to the judges. Egypt defeated Meghan, leading the Blue team to win by a score of 5-4.

The winners were rewarded with a trip to Grace Island, a private island where they would spend the night in an 11-bedroom luxury mansion. However, Egypt missed the reward since Whit used her Punishment Pass to switch places with the Hell's Kitchen cast member.

The following day, Hell's Kitchen opened for service and guests started pouring in. Egypt struggled at the appetizer station, doing everything incorrectly. He served overcooked sauce and undercooked scallops. Despite noticing his mistakes, Lulu chose not to alert him, unwilling to step on his toes. However, when Gordon saw Egypt's faults he asked him to calm down and show "a little finesse."

After Joe from the Blue Team served raw meat to the guests, not once but twice, Gordon kicked them out of the kitchen. Despite Joe's mistakes, the team nominated Egypt and Michael for elimination. Finally, Gordon evicted Michael, stating, "When a chef can't look you in the eye, you know they're hiding something. One thing Michael couldn't hide was the fact that he didn't belong here."

Hell's Kitchen airs every Thursday at 8 pm ET only on Fox.
