Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, a recurring member of the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation, appeared in episode 21 of season 7, which aired on October 4. While there, the cast member sat down with Lamar Odom, the American Basketball player, and Ronnie's long-time friend.
The two friends talked about how they overcame their struggles with addiction and what it cost them. Ronnie opened up about his rock-bottom, the time when he was arrested in 2021 and was about to lose his daughter. In episode 21, he shared how he had felt then and how he fought to get his daughter back.
He was allegedly referring to his 2021 arrest on domestic violence charges, which occurred at the same time he stepped back from the show to work on his mental health. Fans of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation have taken to X to support his journey and acknowledge how far he has come.

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Lamar Odom meet on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season 7 episode 21
In episode 21 of season 7 of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Ronnie visited Lamar Odom's Recovery Centre. While getting there, he shared in a confessional that the first time he went to the rehabilitation center he wasn't ready to change, but the second time he went was after facing quite a lot of repercussions in life, which made him take the program seriously.
He said he wanted to connect to the other people in the program because he realized that he had a "platform" and an "opportunity" that many others didn't. He then shared that when he found out he was having a daughter, he decided he wouldn't drink. However, he wasn't able to keep that promise to himself and relapsed into alcohol addiction. He added:
"Unfortunately she[Ariana] was there, to see my actions that day, when everything went down, and when I tried to talk to her, she wouldn't even look at me. That was heartbreaking to me, at that point it was like, I can't live this moment again".
Ronnie said as a parent, it was his job to protect his child and he felt like he failed at it. He added that he needed to understand that his child was going to live with the repercussions of his actions and work on it.
So he worked every day to become a better person and grow from his experiences. He concluded by saying that he had his daughter with him now and that was all that mattered.
