"You are the villain" — Sister Wives fans criticize Kody for holding his kids responsible for his failed relationship with them

Sister Wives released its latest episode on Sunday, October 6, 2024. The segment featured a difficult conversation between Kody and Robyn, discussing the former's failed relationship with his children. Robyn urged Kody to reconcile with his kids before it was too late.

While Robyn attempted to make Kody realize the importance of having a healthy relationship with all his children, the latter held them accountable for their failed connection. He criticized them for "trash-talking" and spreading baseless gossip about him within the family. Kody believed his children intentionally cut him out of their lives to punish him for his marriage with Robyn.

He explained that relationships were two-sided and until he saw his kids make an effort to mend their broken connection, he would not exhaust himself by holding himself accountable for all the failures.

Sister Wives fans took to X to react to Kody's conversation with Robyn. They criticized him for turning the blame on his children instead of taking responsibility as an elder and their father. They also pointed out that he abandoned his other wives and their families to spend time with Robyn and her kids.

"Kody you committed all the crimes in your family. You absolutely abandoned your wives for Robyn, in doing so you abandoned your children. You made a commitment & then bailed on it because you found someone better. Face it, you are the villain," a fan wrote.

Sister Wives fans were critical of what Kody said about his children, claiming it was upsetting to hear a father say such things about his family members.

Sister Wives star Kody thinks his children are punishing him for "crimes" he did not commit

In a conversation with Robyn, Kody revealed he did not reach out to his children because they badmouthed him. He said he felt an "animosity" from them. The male cast member mentioned Madison was one such child who completely severed ties with him.

While speaking to the cameras, Janelle explained that Madison disconnected from her father because of his prolonged absence from her and her children's lives.

Kody confessed that it was an "unrealistic expectation" to always want a grandparent around. He claimed his children were intentionally leaving him out of their lives to punish him for crimes he did not commit.

"I am only guilty of not falling madly in love with their mothers," Kody said.

The Sister Wives star blamed Madison for spreading gossip in the family, accusing her of tearing her family apart. He believed his children had so much contempt for him that they did not want to mend their relationship. He refused to reach out to them if they continued to dismiss his efforts. Kody claimed that his children betrayed him.

"I do not want to talk to a person who sits there with so much contempt," he said.

The Sister Wives star said his kids needed to respect him to have him back in their lives. In another scene, Kody admitted that the only mistake he made was asking his sons to move out during COVID and not going to Ysabel's surgery.

Despite that, he stated that relationships between a child and a parent should be "reciprocal," refusing to "camp out" in front of his children's homes to mend their connection. He told Robyn that he would take his time to reconnect with his family members.
