"Not going to take it for granted" — Dubai Bling star Danya reacts to DJ Bliss' letter about their relationship

Dubai Bling Season 3 debuted on Netflix on January 8, 2025, showcasing the cast members grappling with challenges in their personal and professional lives. Episode 5, titled A Costly Apology, saw Danya get a "huge wake-up call" after reading her husband DJ Bliss' letter, in which he confessed that he felt unsupported by her and even contemplated ending their marriage.

The letter surprised Danya as she was unaware that her husband felt ignored in times of need. It not only unsettled her but also motivated her to show up for him and meet his expectations. While speaking to the cameras, the Dubai Bling star said:

"When he comes back, I'm going to sit down with him and talk to him about the letter. I'm not going to take it for granted."

After handing the letter to Danya, DJ Bliss left for Kenya for a spiritual meditation retreat. He hoped Danya would utilize the time to reflect on everything and figure out what mattered to her. Despite knowing it would be a difficult read, DJ Bliss wanted Danya to know his genuine feelings so they could turn the page and start afresh.

Dubai Bling alum DJ Bliss says his letter to Danya could be "harsh"

DJ Bliss was glad Danya accompanied him to the airport because he knew he needed to decompress by expressing everything he felt. When he asked her about their situation, Danya claimed they were in a "better place" than last year, however, at the same time, she believed they had a long way to go. DJ Bliss agreed and added that he did not want to "be in that same place ever again."

He explained that he was going on the retreat not only to prepare for his upcoming gig but also to take time off and reflect on their relationship, requesting Danya to do the same while he was away.

The Dubai Bling star reminisced about how they met, saying:

"It was just, like, you know, young, wild, and free, and we don't have to stop being young, wild, and free. You know? Just 'cause we get a little bit older."

While speaking to the Dubai Bling cameras, DJ Bliss confessed that with time partners tend to overlook and forget about the "fun friendship" part of a relationship. He believed it was crucial for the sustenance of marriage, which was why he hoped they could take their relationship back to that point in time.

Soon after, DJ Bliss surprised Danya by showing her the letters she had written him ten years ago. Danya realized she had stopped once she got preoccupied with the children and other responsibilities.

"We forgot each other," she added.

While Danya assured DJ Bliss that she loved and cared for him, he confessed that he missed her and wanted them to start a new chapter after his return. He then handed her a letter that detailed the feelings he failed to communicate earlier.

"It's an emotional letter. It could be harsh, but this is how I feel and this is the truth," DJ Bliss said in a confessional.

The letter was indeed a difficult read for Danya, who was shocked to uncover how her husband felt about their relationship. In the letter, DJ Bliss wrote about how she was not there for him when he needed her the most. It made him wonder if the relationship was something he wanted to continue.

However, once he thought about his children and family, it saddened him to even consider parting ways with Danya. The Dubai Bling alum hoped they could find their way back to one another and start afresh.

"I never thought that he ever had these thoughts, that he didn't want to continue the relationship. So to read that, it was a huge wake-up call for me," Danya reacted.
