Shark Tank investor Robert is a motivational speaker, business expert, and the founder of Herjavec Group. He is also a cyber security expert who has appeared on the US version of the show alongside being on the Australian version as well. Robert has also been an investor in Dragon's Den.

On Shark Tank, Robert has mentored young entrepreneurs and also invested in multiple businesses. He shared advice with aspiring business owners and provided them guidance to eliminate the risk of going into debt or the initial business plan failing.

While sharing his advice, Robert stated that happiness comes from expressing gratitude, living in the present moment, and appreciating the journey while you're striving. He mentioned that expecting money and wealth to bring happiness can cause frustration, as happiness is an emotion and is not a "result of a finite goal." He continued:

"Happiness is not a result of a finite goal. Happiness is just who you are."

A clip was posted to Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec's official Instagram account on December 23, 2024. In that video, Robert shared advice that reaching a certain goal will not "unlock happiness." The video description states:

"Many people believe that happiness is something you unlock once you achieve a certain goal. But this mindset often leads to disappointment and frustration. True happiness comes from embracing who you are and where you are right now."

It further mentioned:

"Remember, wealth and success don't inherently bring happiness; they simply amplify your current state. If you're unfulfilled or unhappy now, no amount of money or achievement will fix that. Instead, focus on cultivating gratitude and joy in the present—it's the foundation for lasting happiness."

Shark Tank investor Robert talks about the "misconception" of success

The Shark Tank investor discussed the mindset of success and happiness being dependent on a finite goal. Robert shared that this belief is a misconception among people that they think they can unlock the happiness door by completing different stages and reaching the final one. Saying true happiness comes from being content and satisfied during hard work, Robert elaborated:

"People have this misconception of success that it is finite. That there's this magic door you walk through and it says success on the door. And once you walk through that door, it's all unicorns and puppy dogs and lolly pops, guess what? The problems just get bigger."

The Shark Tank investor explained that if you are not happy while "striving," no amount of money and success will bring happiness to your life. According to him, wealth and success will "amplify the current" state of one's life rather than fixing the problems and bringing happiness automatically. He said:

"And let me tell you this, if you are not happy today with nothing, striving, working hard, you're not gonna be happy with lots of money. Great wealth amplifies exactly who you are right now."

All previous seasons of Shark Tank are available to stream on ABC. Viewers can follow Robert Herjave's Instagram account to get more life advice alongside business mentorship.
