Stephen Nedoroscik will become the first male gymnast to compete in the show which has been running for the past 19 years. He recently became famous as an internet sensation during the Paris Olympics 2024 for his skills as he was dubbed the "pommel horse guy".

When prompted by Robin Roberts about which moves he would bring over from his pommel horse routine over to the reality competition, Stephen showed enthusiasm for being cast as a member of Dancing With The Stars 33.

“I'm hoping to bring some of the flares. I want to bring some gymnastics, maybe, a back flip, or a handstand. I want to have fun with it,” stated Stephen.

The 25-year-old gymnast won the hearts of fans for not only his pommel horse routine but also the zen energy he displayed during the Olympics. Before winning the USA's first medal in male gymnastics in over 16 years, Stephen closed his eyes and appeared to have fallen asleep which continued the flurry of memes on the internet.

He elaborated on the moment and claimed to do so before every event to calm down his nerves.

“So, as a sort of moment is catching up and you're getting closer to your competition time, your heart rate is just going crazy. So, I'm just trying to stay calm. So, I am really just focusing on my breathing exercises, visualization, and then it's go time.”

Stephen also shared that he is not able to see without his glasses, so he doesn't plan to take them off during his appearance on Dancing With The Stars. He usually performs without his glasses on the pommel horse which he explained by claiming he doesn't need his sight to perform on the pommel horse.

Stephen qualified for the pommel horse final at the Paris Olympic Games and he finished second behind Rhys McClenaghan. Rhys had the higher execution score among the two which was the deciding factor as both the gymnasts scored 15.200.

Team USA qualified for the team final in fifth place because of his routine. USA started on still rings due to their fifth-place finish and ended their routine on pommel horse.

During his turn, Stephen scored 14.866 on the pommel horse which helped Team USA earn a bronze medal, the first for America since 2008. He scored 15.300 in the individual pommel horse competition which got him another bronze medal. That made him the first individual since the 2016 games to earn a medal for the men's team.
