In a recent Instagram post, Kevin O'Leary, an investor on Shark Tank, shared his perspective on the importance of selecting the right timepiece for high-profile events. On January 4, 2025, he posted a video from Cityscape, one of the largest real estate development conferences, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In the post, he explained how a luxury watch can play a significant role in making a lasting impression at such events. He emphasized that it is important to bring your "A-game" in every aspect, including your watch.
“You’ve got to bring your A-game, even with your watches...That’s the one-two punch for an event like this,” the Shark Tank investor wrote in the caption.

The role of watches in professional image
Watches have long been associated with luxury, sophistication, and professionalism. For influential figures like Kevin O'Leary, selecting the right timepiece is more than just about telling time— it's about making a statement. A luxury watch adds an element of personal style that can influence perceptions and even conversations in professional settings.
In his Instagram post, O'Leary emphasizes the significance of wearing iconic watches like the Meteorite Daytona and the Moser Derby to events where success and image are paramount.
"New York time. We're talking Meteorite Daytona. Spectacular. Let's bring it home with Riyadh time with a Moser Derby. Ichi wawa carumba."
The Shark Tank investor not only highlights the importance of such accessories but also signals a broader understanding of fashion's role in achieving business success. The precision and elegance embodied by these timepieces serve as a reflection of the wearer's dedication to excellence.
The Meteorite Daytona: A symbol of prestige
What made the Meteorite Daytona unique was its dial, which was crafted from a shaved piece of meteorite. The meteorite pieces used for these unique dials were sourced by Rolex from those fallen to Earth, and thus each watch is one-of-a-kind.
In a video posted to his official YouTube channel in November 2023, O'Leary explained that the meteorite came from space, and was shaved down into a dial for the watches.
He pointed out that Rolex manufactured as many watches as it could with the meteorite before the material was exhausted. As the meteorite is no longer available, future production of this model will depend on when new pieces fall to Earth.
O'Leary indicated that the Meteorite Daytona is so rare because it belongs to a ceased line, making its existence all the more unique. As for this particular piece, he added that it's gold, which speaks to both luxury and the distinct quality of the components used in the timepiece. The model is still appreciated for connecting the viewer to the artistry of Rolex and space.
The Moser Derby: A perfect complement
According to Haute Time in a January 2024 issue, Kevin O'Leary added the H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Tourbillon Vantablack to his collection, which features a Vantablack dial, known to be the blackest material available, absorbing 99.965% of light photons. The watch design is minimalist, with no logos, markers, or embellishments, so the tourbillon becomes the focal point of the dial.
The Shark Tank investor's watch has customized red kudu and alligator straps on his piece, in keeping with his unique taste. The watch is 42mm in white gold, powered by the HMC 804 automatic tourbillon movement. The movement employs a one-minute flying tourbillon and a patented double hairspring system to deliver accuracy and reduce the effects of gravity.
The Endeavour Tourbillon Vantablack has a 72-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to up to 3 ATM. This watch, launched in 2023, is a reflection of high-quality craftsmanship and functional design.
