Netflix released the first six episodes of Outlast season 2 on September 4, 2024. 16 competitors, vying for a million dollars, go up against each other in the Alaskan wilderness. The only requirement for the competitors is that these lone wolves need to be part of a team to win. The competitors must survive the dire circumstances where nature is not their only enemy.
Season 2 of Outlast will feature four teams in the game. The Alpha and Bravo Camp are on one side of the island, while Charlie and Delta Camp are on the other side of the riverbed. Each camp starts the game with four players, but the players can change their teams in the middle of the game. Players can quit any time by shooting a flare into the sky.
The remaining cast of Outlast includes Brendon Ash, Bri Walston, Deontre (Tre) Thomas, Drake Vliem, Drew Haas, Emily Johnston, Eric Shevchenko, Joey DiDesidero, Joseph Malbrough, Julio Laboy, Meghan Buchanan, Sammy Norris, Tina Grimm, Tonia Willman, and Zach Owens.
Outlast season 2 episode 3 - Three more players bow down from the competition
The episode started on day 8 of the game as Brianna raced to find a team. Her plea to Bravo Camp wasn't unheard, as Emily vouched for her despite the rest of the team being adamant about staying as a team of four. Brianna was allowed to stay for the night time in the Bravo camp because of the unforgiving conditions of the forest.
Soon after, to everyone's surprise, a flare went up signaling another player's withdrawal from the Alpha Camp. Zach fell on his back and was not able to move comfortably, which resulted in his elimination. Zach revealed that he felt disappointed to leave this early and let his family down in the process.
In the Delta Camp, Tina disclosed her desire to win came from keeping her mom in the house and not in a nursing home, since she had stage five dementia. They also shared their distaste for Eric trying to be the leader despite his lack of skills.
As the sun came up on day 9, Bravo Camp had a change of heart after spending time with Brianna the night prior. The team didn't want to make Alpha Camp stronger, as they felt Brianna going over would increase their chances of survival.
Over at the Alpha Camp, Tre and Tonia bonded over having a strong passion to win the season. They both acknowledged that they weren't the strongest competitors, but wanted to give their all and prove other teams wrong since they were cheering Zach's departure.
Meghan requested a medic due to frostbite on her two fingers. She got emotional as she revealed she had been through all the summits without having any issues, but being in Outlast was proving tougher, as she had around 250 calories in the last eight days. The look-in with Meghan was cut short as medics had to rush to check on Julio, who was having spasms.
Eric woke up from his rest and acknowledged that it could be tough being around him, but assured that he had the best interests of the team at heart. He proceeded to venture alone to the waterbed and made sea salt out of the water. Julio's muscle spasms got the best of him and he sat down with his camp to share the news. Hearing that, Meghan also broke down in tears and decided to leave the camp.
This left Joey in the Charlie Camp alone, who expressed his surprise and disappointment in seeing all his teammates leave in the past 24 hours. He also shared that unlike Julio and Meghan, he needed the money desperately and would do anything to win Outlast.
Outlast's final batch of episodes will be released on September 11 on Netflix.
