1) Delta forgives Joey

The remaining teams received a message in Outlast season 2 episode 7. The message informed them that only 48 hours were left in the game and the players had to finalize their teams before entering the final competition of the show.

This message had Joey thinking and he considered the possibility of switching teams and joining Team Bravo. He believed that his team was weaker in comparison to Bravo who had two young contestants. He went over to them, however, they turned down his proposal and he had to return to his camp.

Delta found out about Joey's betrayal and discussed if they wanted to have him on their team any longer. Eric was pretty mad about Joey's actions and wanted to vote him out of the team. However, Joseph wanted to hear Joey out before making any decision.

Joseph had a conversation with Joey about his actions and asked his motives. After taking several minutes Joseph wanted to give his teammate the benefit of the doubt because of the high pressure that was involved with the last few hours of the competition. Joseph forgave Joey, leading other teammates to give him a second chance.

2) The final challenge

Bravo and Delta received their final drop at the start of the Outlast season 2 finale. The drop had a message that explained to them about their final competition.

Starting at sunrise, both teams had to make an 11 km trip and the team to finish first would receive the prize money. Each team got a map and a compass to help them navigate the path. The two teams had separate travel routes with different sets of challenges for each.

The narrator explained that Bravo had to pass through "densely wooded forests, wetlands, and waterways". Their route headed north and made contact with a river that would lead them to the finish line. Their exposed waterway was a "densely wooded forest with no clear path".

As for Team Delta, the narrator added that their path had "fewer woods and water crossings", however, they had to go through large sections of muskeg. their journey was straightforward leading them to their first landmark at Beaver Dam.

3) The winners of Outlast season 2

Delta was the first team to make it to their first landmark, however, Bravo beat them to the finish line. Bravo had one last task to finish before winning the prize money. They had to create a friction fire with the help of the primitive tool that they were given.

"They must use a bow drill, a prehistoric survival tool consisting of a bow, a spindle, and a baseboard to start a friction fire. Once the fire is big enough to light the bundle of boughs ten feet above it, flare smoke will be released, signaling the end of the game and the winners of the one-million-dollar prize," narrator explained.

Bravo was the first to complete the final task and won season 2 of Outlast.
