“Own private space”- Shark Tank investor Barbara Corcoran reflects on having separate rooms with her husband

Shark Tank investor Barbara Corcoran has a name for herself in the real estate industry. In her recent interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show. Barbara shared insights about her personal and professional life. During the conversation, Barbara shared that she and her husband respected each other's personal space and that having separate rooms has been an important aspect of their relationship. She said:

"Well, I think there's something to be said about your own private space. I lead a very busy life, I have a huge family that I'm always entertaining, I have very sincere active friends, so what I need more than anything else is a restpite and my husband is not relaxing."

According to her official ABC bio, Barbara's life changed when she was 23 and decided to pursue her dream of starting a real estate company. She is now famous for her book Shark Tales: How I Turned $1,000 into a Billion Dollar Business and her podcast Business Unusual with Barbara Corcoran.

The interview, posted on YouTube, describes the show's episode and introduces Barbara as "persistent" and "resilient." It further mentions:

Shark Tank investor Barbara talked about her "private space" and how important it is to maintain that in a relationship. She continued by stating that leading a busy life made her realize the significance of having a space where she can unwind and relax. Barbara shared that after a long day, she likes to have an hour to herself and later "contribute to the conversations" with her husband.

The Shark Tank star elaborated that she has to invite her husband to her bedroom and "likes it that way." Barbara explained:

"If I go to the living room, my husband follows me, if I go to my room, he doesn't dare come in. I have to invite him in my bedroom and I like it that way. He's never invited me back because he knows I'll never come into his bedroom. But I have to invite him into my bedroom."

When the interviewer asked Barbara if she and her husband plan special nights with each other despite having separate bedrooms, Barbara responded with a yes. She stated that her idea of a special night was to play Scrabble with her husband. Barbara continued:

"My idea of a special night with my husband is a good game of Scrabble. I love beating him at Scrabble, he loves beating me at Scrabble. And that's a great night. It makes a great night."
