All the episodes of Owning Manhattan were released on Netflix on Friday, with the first episode introducing Ryan Serhant. He is a giant in the real estate industry and the CEO of SERHANT. He describes himself as extraordinary in his pursuits, and after working for 12 years in real estate, he decided to start his own company. He has also worked for over a decade on Million Dollar Listings.

"We are at about 350 agents, and it's been two and a half years. Every single person told me to not start my own company, and when everyone said no, I took it as a hard yes," Serhant explained.

Episode one of Owning Manhattan gives viewers a sneak peek of something called a "sales huddle" and sees Ryan describe his dreams for the team. He states that they need to be hardworking, edgy, and great with business to be million-dollar producers. He says that he wants to work with "the best of the best," and if they can't sell, they "can't be here."

The company, SERHANT, had crossed $1.3 billion in active listings as a firm, and the team can be seen celebrating. Along with this, other agents also share their experiences on how it is to work at the SERHANT office.

Episode one introduces the audience to this opulent penthouse situated in Central Park Tower, in the heart of New York City. The $250 million penthouse is the focal point of the SERHANT company right now.

Kayla, an agent for the company, is set out on a task to sell this luxurious penthouse. She is well-networked and knows a buyer from Asia who is interested in the penthouse.

"So, the apartment interior is 17,545 square feet. You have 14,00 square feet of exterior. The building was designed by Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill," is how the apartment is described.

Episode one of Owning Manhattan also focuses on the team, who are all competitive and hard-working. They are waiting for their time to make it big in the New York real estate market. Each member, including veterans and rookies, comes up with their own unique skill set.

The first episode sees them cutting deals and competing with their colleagues at the SERHANT.

Ryan Serhant also reveals that he spares his time to shoot promotional content for his company so that he can send it out to his team.

"We're headed to the top of the Empire State Building to shoot some promotional content for SERHANT that I can send out to my team. Social media has changed everything. If you can make billions of dollars selling makeup , you can sell real estate too," he says.

Episode one of Owning Manhattan ends with a shocker for Ryan, as Kayla tells him she was unable to crack the deal for the penthouse. Ryan calls some of his teammates and puts forward a proposal, stating that the person who gets it sold will get $10 million.

"I've had this listing, and I need to get it sold. It is one of the biggest developers in the United States. the asking price on this is $250 million. If I don't sell it, they'll give it to another brokerage. So, I have a challenge for you. The first one to get it sold is going to get $10 million."

The episode ends with anticipation as to who would sell this luxurious penthouse. Other agents can be seen wondering why they were not given this opportunity.
