Perfect Match season 2, which is set to air its season finale this week on Friday, June 21, 2024, features a diverse cast of celebrities who are a part of the Netflix reality show universe, including alums from Too Hot To Handle, The Mole, Dated and Related, The Circle, and more.
Dominique Defoe was one of the cast members who entered the show in episode 1 as the main cast member and matched with Bryton Constance. She later matched with Chris but was sent home soon after. The cast member returned to the show later in the season along with other eliminated contestants as they were given another shot at forming connections. However, Dominique seemingly failed to do so.
On June 16, 2024, the Perfect Match season 2 cast member took to TikTok to reveal that she did match with someone but it was cut from the final edit. She was accompanied by Brittan Byrd, another Too Hot To Handle alum.
Dominique wrote that they shot the video the day after they attended Netflix's Perfect Match event and recalled matching on the show:
"Us in the morning after going to the Netflix Perfect Match event and thinking about how we matched at the party, immediately had to leave, and weren't aired for the SECOND DATING SHOW IN A ROW like can we breathe LMAO #perfectmatch #perfectmatchseason2 #wlw #toohottohandle
Too Hot To Handle alum Dominique opens up about her time on Perfect Match season 2
Perfect Match season 2's episodes 1 to 9 are currently available to stream on Netflix. The show started with a handful of singles from the Netflix unscripted genre whose aim was to find the perfect person for them.
One such person was Dominique Defoe who was eliminated from the show after failing to find a match. The show featured a predominantly heterosexual cast as they formed male-female couples to go ahead in the game. Dominique, who had been open about being bisexual, was eliminated after she dumped Chris Hahn and couldn't find another match.
She returned to the show later in the season along with the rest of the eliminated cast and tried to form connections once again. The Perfect Match season 2 star took to social media to talk about her experience on the show and said she and fellow female cast member Brittan matched in episode 9 but it didn't make it to the final cut.
In another video, Dominique and cast member Xanthi noted that they tried to match on the show but couldn't since "it was boys' choice." The cast member also took to the social media platform to talk about other aspects of the show, including feeling that her "voice was pointless."
She spoke about her brief match with Bryton Constance who previously competed in Squid Game: The Challenge and about reality television in general.
She wrote:
"Having the small moments where you felt like your voice was pointless and felt completely hopeless/panicked to be the storyline is not for the weak but neither is reality TV. That is excruciating to watch but I think I'm just being hard on myself for a situation that was extremely difficult to navigate. As always, I love you guys and HAPPY FREAKING PRIDE. #perfectmatch #perfectmatchseason2"
In the clip, she said that on the show it looked like she was attracted to and liked dating "toxic men" and said that was not an accurate representation. She added that despite what was shown on Netflix, she and Bryton were "absolutely" not arguing about Yoga and that the main reasons didn't make the final cut.
Dominique said Bryton continued to say "hateful" things while she was standing up for groups of people. She added that she was initially angry to see the arguments about "hate speech" play out on screen but it was made to look like it was about yoga.
The cast member further spoke about her anxieties about looking like she was overreacting during the show and noted that she didn't like Bryton from the first night. For the unversed, the two got into several arguments while coupled up and after a compatibility challenge, Dominique ended up in tears because she felt Bryton never listened to her.
Tune in on Friday, June 21, 2024, to watch the season finale of Perfect Match season 2 on Netflix.
