Netflix's Perfect Match dropped the first six episodes of the dating reality show on Friday, June 7, 2024. In each episode, one couple wins the compatibility challenge, gaining the power to bring new people into the villa.

At the end of episode 4, Dom and Tolu won this power, and episode 5 explored the aftermath of their decision. According to the episode synopsis:

"A tough night turns into a feisty morning in the boardroom. Matches and the matchless make bold moves as one single's sudden interest raises doubts."

In episode 5, Tolu and Elys went on dates and then had to decide whether they wanted to stay "matched" with their current partners or switch it up.

What happened in the Perfect Match season 2 episode 5?

In Perfect Match season 2 episode 5, Tolu went on a date with Jake from The Ultimatum season 1, and Elys went on a date with Justin, who had previously appeared on Perfect Match.

While the girls spent time with their new potential matches, Dom worried about finding another match since things weren't working out with Tolu. During a conversation with Harry, Dom expressed interest in Alara, who wasn't opposed to the idea.

Meanwhile, Chris was concerned about his position in the house. He was paired with Elys, and although they were friends, both wanted to explore connections with other cast members. Chris told the cameras that he hoped Elys' date didn't go well so he would have less to worry about.

Justin's entry in the show sparked a conversation between the women, Micah noted that he was "cute," while Elys told the cameras she felt every Perfect Match season 2 female cast member was a bit "taken back" by the newcomer.

Tolu and Jake entered the house next. After introducing himself to everyone, Jake said he planned to talk to whoever caught his eye.

"The goal is to make it all the way through. Like, I don't wanna go anywhere. I'm here to find a perfect match."

Nick Lachey returned to the villa to welcome the new cast members and informed everyone that two male cast members without a partner by the end of the night would be eliminated. The cast played a game of truth or dare to get to know each other better.

Alara asked the newcomers who they were "feeling tonight," and Jake said he wanted to talk to her. He told Stevan, Alara's match, that he didn't mean to be disrespectful. Stevan replied:

"Not disrespect. I like knowing everyone wants my girl. Go for it. Have a great time babe."

Stevan told the cameras that he didn't blame Jake for wanting Alara but said Jake could try all he wanted and it wouldn't make a difference. After that, Jake spoke to Micah and clarified that he intended to talk to everyone in the house. She also spoke to Justin as she wanted to "test" herself and her match, Kaz.

Seeing Micah interact with Justin, Elys decided to talk to Kaz. She explained that there was no romantic connection between her and Chris, and it was "every man for himself" in season 2. She asked Kaz if he didn't feel anything about Micah, and he should explore other options. However, Kaz said he needed to talk to his match before making a decision.

Later in the episode, the couples were revealed:

  • Stevan and Alara
  • Tolu and Chris
  • Elys and Justin
  • Harry and Jessica
  • Micah and Kaz

This left Dom and Jake without a match, and they were eliminated from Perfect Match season 2 in episode 5.

Perfect Match season 2 premiered on Friday, June 7, and will air episodes in batches every week. The season finale will air on June 21, 2024. Fans can stream the segment on Netflix.
