In an episode of his podcast Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey, Harry shared that he was drunk "90%" of the time on Perfect Match season 2, so he doesn't remember much of it. The episode of his podcast was released on Tuesday, June 11, on YouTube and Spotify and focused on his run on the show.
He said he broke his 13-month-long sobriety on Perfect Match and gave a reason for his alcohol consumption, saying,
"I was going through a bit of a breakup. I was going through a hard time".
He also spoke about how alcohol influenced many of his "dumb decisions" on the show and acknowledged his break up with Elys Hutchinson in episode 3 of Perfect Match season 2.

In the podcast episode titled I was a Perfect Mess on Netflix's 'Perfect Match,' Harry admitted to not being in the right mindset for the show. He said that alcohol became the reason for his behavior on the show and that he doesn't remember a lot of the show because he was constantly drunk.

Fans of Perfect Match first saw Harry abruptly leaving Elys to pair up with Jessica. Fans then thought Harry was loyal to Jessica after he confessed his love for her, but he misbehaved at the boy's mixer in episode 8 and carried Melinda in his arms.
He was then accused of kissing Melinda, which he denied. He credited alcohol for all of this and said he consumed it because he was having a "hard time."
"I was absolutely sideways 90% of the time. There's a lot of conversations and things that we all see that I'm seeing for the first time and I'm like, 'Why did I say that? What is going on?,'" he said.
He then told his viewers that if they look at his eyes on the show, they would be able to tell that he was drunk. He added that he would look like he had problems because he did. He said that he would joke about things like having shots of alcohol instead of water and that he would also bring alcohol to the vans that would take the contestants to the compatibility challenge locations.
"There was no limits with the alcohol, so we just kept going, and I realized that maybe there's alcoholic tendencies inside of me that were coming out like every day," he shared.
He then addressed his fallout with Elys and the part that alcohol had to play in it. He said he feared confrontations and confessions back then, so even when he had a good time with Jessica and intended to match with her, he kept pushing back his confrontation with Elys. He said he thought that getting drunk and figuring it out later was a better idea.
He mentioned that he was also drunk during his conversation with Elys and admitted to not knowing what was going on. However, he knew he wanted to be with Jessica, so ending things with Elys was important.
Elys responded to his podcast on her TikTok, saying,
"Imagine thinking releasing a podcast would be a good idea".
The finale episode of Perfect Match season 2 comes out on Friday, June 21, on Netflix.
