Perfect Match season 2 surprised viewers with its plot twists and how each couple's loyalty was put to the test. In this show, stars from the Netflix reality universe get a second chance at love. The couple who wins the compatibility challenge gets a chance to invite new single contestants into the villa, causing drifts and heartbreaks among participants.

Initially, the couples on Perfect Match season 2 episode 2 were the same as in episode 1, until Micah and Xanthi decided to swap their partners. The winners of the compatibility challenge, Harry and Elys wanted to test Izzy and Tolú's connection and sent the former on a date with the newcomer Dom. Elys also set up Dominique on a blind date with her friend Chris from Dated and Related.

As both the dates were successful, Bryton, Dominuqe's previous match, and Izzy, Tolú's love prospect, were eliminated. This changed the relationship dynamic in the villa and the couples in episode 2 were changed to:

  • Tolú and Dom
  • Dominique and Chris
  • Micah and Kaz
  • Stevan and Xanthi
  • Harry and Elys

The synopsis for Perfect Match season 2 episode 2 states:

Relationship status of Perfect Match season 2 couples in episode 2

On Perfect Match season 2 episode 2, viewers could sense that Micah and Stevan weren't the best match. Micah wanted to choose someone who wasn't her typical type, and Stevan's bad-boy persona was what attracted her towards him. Kaz and Xanthi were getting to know one another but soon realized they wanted different qualities in their partner.

During a conversation between Micah and Xanthi, the two cast members realized they were attracted to Kaz and Stevan respectively. When the two talked about swapping with their partners, Stevan revealed he was interested in Xanthi and wanted to explore a connection with her.

Meanwhile, Perfect Match contestant Tolú was hopeful her bond with Izzy would last longer until she went on a date with Perfect Match season 1 winner Dom. After considering the pros and cons of dating both, Tolú decided she should give Dom a chance after their first date went so well.

The Trust star encouraged Izzy to talk to other ladies in the villa. He tried to express interest in Micah but she was already with Kaz. Izzy said:

"There's nobody in here right now that I'm like gonna heavily pursue and try to fake something. Like I don't wanna be sleeping next to a girl for the next couple of nights that I have no connection with. I mean, I feel like I'm in prime-time of dating, So this isn't a final hasta luego for me."

Dominique and Bryton, on the other hand, were the only couple in the villa who were having multiple arguments and struggled to be on the same page. Dominique decided it was wise to choose Chris over Bryton as her relationship with her former match wouldn't last long if they kept engaging in verbal fights.

Bryton was annoyed at this decision and left the villa without talking to any other potential love interests.
