Netflix's popular social media competition show The Circle premiered with four episodes on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. It featured 10 contestants, competing against one another for a chance to win $100,000.

While some contestants opted to play the game fairly by being truthful about themselves, others concealed their true personalities by hiding behind someone else's identity. The catfishing cast members attempted to manipulate the game every step of the way to ensure their covers were not blown off.

To consolidate their position in the game, they resorted to forging alliances. In episode 1, the Scarlotta twins, Nicky and Jojo, catfishing as Gianna, connected with Deb, playing Rachel, over their hometown Staten Island.

"We have a very good feeling about you. Please don't let us down," Jojo said.

The Circle stars solidified their connection as the competition progressed. When the Scarlotta twins became the influencers in episode 3, they used their power to prevent Kevin from blocking the fellow Staten Island resident. Similarly, Rachel defended them in the group chat whenever anyone tried to put them in a spot.

After Nicky and Jojo, catfishing as Gianna, introduced themselves to the other cast members in the first episode, Rachel, opened their profile to know more about them. She got excited upon discovering that Gianna was from Staten Island.

"Oh my God. Gianna's from Staten Island? That's my hometown," Rachel said.

She immediately headed to the group chat and informed Gianna that Staten Island was where her mother grew up. Rachel added "#BestIcesEver" in her text message, hinting at Ralph's Ices, a popular Staten Island ice-cream joint, convincing Nicky and Jojo of her story. They stated Rachel had the potential to be their "biggest ally."

Meanwhile, the others in the group chat, Kevin and Darian, struggled to understand the reference. Later in the episode, Gianna invited Rachel to a private chat, hoping to develop their connection. The Circle star messaged Rachel, wanting to know "all the juicy details" about her and her mother.

"Hey, Circle Sister, I remember what high school she went to because I always thought it was a strange name. Port Richmond," Rachel's message said.

Nicky and Jojo were impressed by the specific answers. The accuracy with which Rachel answered their questions convinced them of her identity. They believed that The Circle cast member was "not full of sh*t."

"Rachel, I knew you were genuine!" Nicky exclaimed.

They explained that anyone from Staten Island would know that the original Ralph's Ices was in Port Richmond and the fact that Rachel knew about it proved she hailed from the place. They responded to Rachel's text by revealing that their uncle still coached the school's football team.

Rachel was convinced they had forged a friendship and potentially a strong alliance. She called themselves the "#SuperCircleSquad." The Scarlotta twins were satisfied with the connection growing between them. As a result, they offered to support Rachel to the "finish line."

"We found our strongest alliance already," Jojo said.

He added he "would literally cry" if she betrayed them after their conversation. On the contrary, Rachel swore her allegiance and vowed to take them to the finale with her. She even named their friendship, "#Rachanna." Impressed by Rachel's enthusiasm, the Scarlotta twins welcomed her to be a "part of the family."

The Circle season 7 is available to stream only on Netflix.
