Season 7 of The Circle was much-awaited after season 6 of the show ended earlier this year. The newest season premiered on September 11 with 4 episodes. It saw some of the 11 contestants on the show weaving their game, vying to get the $100,000 prize money.
Episode 3 saw them playing the game of Kray Pop, where they had to answer multiple-choice, pop culture questions. According to their answers, other contestants could tell a lot about their identities.
Debbie, who was disguised as the 26-year-old Rachel, was the only contestant to wrongly choose Jared Leto instead of Elon Musk when the question was, "Who named their kid X Æ A-Xii?"
She raised many eyebrows because the contestants thought either Rachel wasn't who she was pretending to be or she was living under a rock. After a few other questions, when the game of Kray Pop ended, Heather, disguised as Andy said:
"All eyeballs are on Rachel after this. Rachel is not 26. She's not".
What made The Circle star Heather call out Rachel's catfish in episode 3?
Before the game of Kray Pop in episode 3, The Circle narrator explained the game saying the contestants would have to answer pop culture questions in a multiple-choice format. Every contestant's answers would be displayed after every question so other contestants could enumerate them.
The first question asked who's child was called X Æ A-Xii, and everyone except Debbie answered it correctly. She said that Rachel would be able to answer the question but Debbie wouldn't.
Savannah said one's gotta know who Elon Musk was, while Madelyn said one's gotta be living under a rock to not know such a thing. Heather said that her instinct told her that Rachel might be way older than she shows. Unfortunately, it wasn't over for Debbie because her The Circle bad luck ran way longer. The next question said:
"Which of these athletes have been in both the WWE and the UFC".
The options were Hulk Hogan, Brock Lesner, and The Rock. Debbie was happy with the question. She knew the answer because her son, Jason, was a WWE fan. She said that Rachel's older brothers were into WWE because of which it was likely that she knew the answer.
However, her confident selection of the correct answer, Brock Lesner, went wrong because she became the only girl to choose the correct answer. All the other ladies went with either The Rock or Hulk Hogan.
She still was happy with her The Circle answer, but she didn't know it was being taken negatively by some of the other contestants. This made Heather say:
"Is Rachel, like, a really old dude in real life?"
Madelyn and Jadejha also echoed Heather's sentiments because they too suspected her to be someone else. The fourth question on The Circle also pointed fingers at Rachel. The question was: "Which of these popular abbreviations is a compliment?" The given options were HBIC, TL;DR, and NPC.
The full forms of which were Head B***h In Charge, Too Long; Don't Read, and Non-Player Character. All the contestants guessed it correctly except Madelyn, Kevin, and Rachel. Madelyn chose TL;DR while Kevin and Rachel went with NPC. This raised further suspicions about Rachel, who was expected to know the Gen-Z term HBIC. After the question, Heather said:
"Rachel not knowing that, tracks with how she answered the Elon Musk question. Rachel is not young".
After finding out she answered wrongly, Debbie said that she worked with Gen Z and millennials but they didn't compliment her, which is why she didn't know the answer.
Madelyn also took notes and said it was weird Rachel knew the correct answer to a wrestler because that was something "a guy would know". Darian said he smelled something, "Fishy. Catfishy".
Episodes 5 to 8 of The Circle season 7 will be released on September 18, on Netflix.
