Before they went live, each one of them had to record a song they wrote in a professional recording studio. Before they went in for this, the contestants got mentoring from hip-hop legends KL Jay and Negra Li.

Seeing the two stars on Rhythm + Flow Brazil Capitu said she was frozen to see the legends. RT Mallone said they were two masters who paved the way for hip-hop culture in Brazil and that they saved his life. Then when he sat down with KL Jay, he told him his songs were about black people being black.
He added that he wanted his lyrics to be heard by everyone. To this, KL said:
"I think you have to focus on being more relatable. Simple everyday things that everyone on the streets understands".
On the other side, Afrodite said she didn't want to do the boom-bap beat because that was expected of her. So instead, she said she was thinking of doing a trap. Negra suggested she take up a style that she was the most comfortable with. When Afrodite said it was boom bap, Negra asked her to take that up.
Capitu asked KL what he did to repel writer's block. KL suggested she accept it and try to recognize what was blocking her. He also suggested that her block also could be coming from her parent's refusal to accept her rapping identity.
Novak told Negra that he wanted to mix two things, starting with a piano and then changing the beat. Negra asked, "What if you switched it?" Novak liked the idea. Maria Preta suggested to keep it simple.
