Marcus Vinicius Andrade e Silva, commonly known as Kamau, is a rapper, producer, and professional skateboarder from São Paulo. He was born on February 29, 1976. The stage name "Kamau" in Swahili means "Silent Warrior."
Kamau started a music career when not accepted into Computer Science through an entrance exam, he had to study Mathematics at UNESP while at the same time cultivating his desire to rap.
With a small group of friends, they named themselves Consequência; by the end of one week, they had won many local rap battles.
During the course of his career, he has produced nine albums, including both solo and collaborative projects. Some of his awards include the Hutúz Award in 2002 and 2008 as well as nominations for the VMB.
