Rhythm + Flow: Brazil, set to premiere on November 12 on Netflix (USA), will feature 18 contestants competing for the title of the rising star in the national rap scene. Rhythm + Flow: Brazil — Release schedule, prize money, and special guest
Rhythm + Flow: Brazil is the Brazilian adaptation of the American show Rhythm & Flow. This series presents the up-and-coming artists in rap and trap. The inaugural season is scheduled to have six episodes. Part 1, comprising four episodes, will be released on November 12, while Part 2, featuring the final two episodes, will premiere on Netflix on November 19.
Like the original, the Brazilian will take the documentary-style approach to capture contestants' emotions, experiences, and growth as they advance in the competition. The participants are expected to make improvements both in terms of skill and personal development.
The winner of Rhythm + Flow: Brazil Season 1 will receive a grand prize of R$500,000 (Brazilian reais), giving them a significant career boost and providing essential funding to launch their music journey. Moreover, the winning contestant would get a guest spot in Sintonia Season 5, a popular Brazilian series showcasing the music, youth, and street culture in São Paulo.
Judges and Special Guests
As mentioned, the judging panel includes Brazilian rap artists Djonga, Filipe Ret, and the sister duo Tasha & Tracie. Each one of the three judges represents a part of a rap scene in Brazil. Judge Djonga hails from Belo Horizonte, Filipe Ret represents Rio de Janeiro, and Tasha & Tracie bring their perspective from São Paulo.
Like its counterparts, Rhythm + Flow: Brazil will take the viewers to judges' hometowns and focus on the iconic places that impacted their careers. As per Netflix, the episodes will be filmed at Viaduto Santa Tereza (in Belo Horizonte), Tavares Bastos and Lapa (in Rio de Janeiro), and Cidade Tiradentes (in São Paulo).
Besides the three judges, each episode will feature a special guest from the Brazilian rap scene who will lend a hand in assessing contestants' performance. The 20 special guests include Azzy, Bob13, Dallas, Dexter, Ebony, FBC, Iza Sabino, Jottapê, Karol Conká, KL JAY, Laudz, Maru2D, MC Luanna, Marcelo D2, Negra Li, N.I.N.A, Sidoka, Vulgo FK, WIU and Zegon.
