90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 6 released its episode 17 on October 21. The episode documented Lily's daughter, Vivian, questioning her if she really wanted to marry Josh. The latest installment also saw Corona asking Ingi if he wanted to get married. Meanwhile, James met Tata's sister for the first time, while Sean saw Joanne's mother Donna for the first time via a video call.
Titled Donna Mia, episode 17 was named after Joanne's mother as she spoke to Sean about their living situation once they start to live together. They also talked about how Joanne's children were considering the fact that they were going to separate from their mother.
Details on Sean and Donna's talks from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 6 episode 17
As soon as Joanne introduced Sean to her mother Donna on 90 Day Fiancé, she said he was her son-in-law yet she hadn't met him ever before. He jokingly said, "Hi mom". He mentioned that they had never video-called before because he wanted to meet her in person first. However, he couldn't because he wasn't permitted to travel to the US.
Sean then apologized and told her he didn't hold back the meeting because of disrespect. Donna said she accepted the apology for not meeting him for three years but she asked where they would go from there. She questioned if he was going to "take" her daughter and her grandkids away from her or bring her to Ireland as well. He responded:
"I would like us, one day, to be all under the same roof but we didn't even think...even when the boys were over, I was like I apologize, we did this but we didn't actually think this".
Joanne mentioned that she told the kids she wanted to make Ireland her home and that it was a lot for them to digest in such a short time. Donna said she spoke to her grandkids and figured out that Sean had won them over. But she added that Joanne's son Joey didn't want to speak to her mom.
Joanne went into a 90 Day Fiancé confessional to share that she hadn't talked to Joey since he went to the US. This made her wonder if he was angry or was taking his time to think. She added:
"By my kid's reactions, it seems as though they're hurting a little bit more than I even expected, and because of that it may change my decision".
Donna then asked Sean what he was offering Joanne that she already didn't have in the US. Sean initally replied that he didn't know, and then said "True love," adding that it was a bit corny but true. Donna quipped that they couldn't live off love alone. Sean agreed and said they didn't have answers to many questions at the moment and had a lot to figure out.
Donna quipped again, rhetorically asking if they should've figured this stuff out when they decided to get married. Sean responded that they decided to get married "in the moment". Donna noted:
"I just don't know how this marriage could work out in two different countries...this is blowing me away".
She then asked them how they thought everyone was going to live as a happy family because by the way they were arranging things, someone or the other was going to feel left out, including herself. In a 90 Day Fiancé confessional, Sean said he didn't have the answers to many of Donna's questions but he was hoping to make it work somehow.
