Selling Sunset first premiered in March 2019 on Netflix and has aired eight seasons so far. The reality show follows the lives of members of the Oppenheim Group, led by Jason and Brett Oppenheim as they sell high-end properties and navigate interpersonal relationships on screen.
Ahead of the latest season's premiere, cast members Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young found themselves at odds as Chrishell publicly criticized Nicolle for spreading misinformation about her friend and season 8 co-star Emma Hernan. However, it was not their first fight on the Netflix show, as the two had been feuding since Nicole Young joined the cast in season 6.
Their feud was ignited when Nicole, who had been a part of the brokerage for years claimed that Chrishell took credit for a property she sold in 2020. In the same season, Chrishell accused Nicole of being on drugs on several occasions. The drama continued in season 7 followed by the latest season 8 drama revolving around Nicole's comments about Emma Hernan.
Chrishell Stause and Nicole Young's turbulent history on Selling Sunset explored
Selling Sunset stars Chrishell and Nicole have been at odds since the latter joined the cast of the show in season 6. The two have been involved in three major feuds so far.
1) Nicole felt Chrishell took credit for one of her sales
In season 6 of Selling Sunset, Nicole and Chrishell worked on selling a property together. While Nicole was initially heading the project, Chrishell joined in later. While on The Viall Files, Mary Fitzgerald, another cast member explained what happened between the two.
In the podcast, Mary said that Nicole did "more work" on the property but Jason brought Chrishell in on the listing because she was new. Mary said Nicole got paid for it while Chrishell shared about the sale on social media.
"Nicole found out it was going to be on Selling Sunset oo, and she just got really upset back then," Mary said.
2) Chrishell accused Nicole of being on drugs
In Selling Sunset season 6 episode 7, the cast went to Palm Springs. As they sat down for dinner, they discussed the group dynamics. Nicole and Chrishell's feud about the property was brought up as Emma explained why she had stopped talking to her.
She explained that Nicole's birthday post for Jason's girlfriend at the time, Marie-Lou felt like a "dig" at Chrishell who had previously dated Jason. Nicole explained that she didn't mean to shade the Selling Sunset star. She added that there were times when Jason and Chrishell were dating, he wouldn't pick up important calls, which was "weird" to her.
The conversation took a turn and came back to their real estate feud and Nicole said she didn't want to say something that would be "detrimental" to Chrishell's career. The two got into an argument, and Nicole said the Selling Sunset cast member was not letting her explain so she was going to "move on."
"I'm sure you would, because you don't have points and you're on drugs," Chrishell said.
She added that she didn't want to continue having a conversation because it seemed like there was more in Nicole's glass than wine. She said that Nicole had been acting "cracked out" all night. Nicole walked away from the conversation and later got a drug test to prove that she wasn't on drugs.
3) Chrishell calls Nicole out for her statements against Emma Hernan
The most recent conflict between the Selling Sunset stars took place a week before season 8 was set to air. The trailer of the season included a clip of Nicole insinuating she had heard a rumor about Emma's alleged involvement with a married man.
Chrishell and Chelsea publically called Nicole out on Instagram via since deleted stories and called Nicole a "liar." She posted another Instagram story during which she asked viewers not to believe Nicole's statements about "bestie" and called them "categorically false and super damaging."
Nicole responded to the claims and asked Chrishell along with Chelsea Lazkani who also criticized her, to ask "bestie some tough questions" about the situation.
For the unversed, in Selling Selling Sunset 8 episode 5, Nicole Young insinuated that Emma Hernan was involved with a married man. The cast member has since then apologized for talking about the alleged affair on camera but maintains that the information that was given to her was provided by a "close source."
All episodes of Selling Sunset season 8 are available to stream on Netflix.
