Selling Sunset, a Netflix original, is making a comeback with Oppenheim Group on Netflix on September 6, 2024. After seven successful seasons, the show is set to entertain the audience with luxurious real estate properties, fierce competition between real estate giants, and drama between the cast members. Created by Adam DiVello, the show premiered its first season on March 21, 2019.
Christine Quinn and Mary Fitzgerald were featured in Selling Sunset and were best friends during their initial days in the show in 2019. The duo had a solid equation outside the reel life. Their feud started when Chrishell Stause joined the cast and became close to Mary. The rift between Christine and Mary broadened with time, leading to their falling out.
Chrishell joined the Oppenheim group in 2018 and then featured on Selling Sunset in 2019. Mary and Chrishell have been in all seven seasons and are returning for the eighth season. However, Christine Quinn left the show after season 5.
Christine and Mary were last reunited with Jason Oppenheim and Nicole Young at a party, as reported by E! News in an article published on June 18, 2024.
Why did the relationship between best friends from Selling Sunset, Christine and Mary, turn bitter?
Christine Quinn and Mary Fitzgerald started as best friends on Selling Sunset, and they seemed tight together. The duo were part of Netflix's original Selling Sunset, which later witnessed their friendship going into chaos and drama. Things stirred up between the two when Christine and Chrishell got into a brickbat at the end of season 1 of the show. The former called Chrishell 'fake,' which invoked an overwhelming response from Chrishell.
She broke into tears and said:
"I'm not a kiss-ass, I'm not fake, I'm not a pushover. I'm just not," Christine exclaimed as she made her exit.
Mary sided with Chrishell and went to the console, citing Christine's behaviors as inappropriate. She said:
"I'm good friends with her, but I don't stand for that sh*t."
Season 1 of Selling Sunset ended with the tension sprawling between the costars, also marking a new chapter of Mary and Christine's friendship. Season 2 had a big announcement in the pocket, as the Oppenheim realtor, Christine Quinn, was engaged to Christian Dumontet, a tech entrepreneur. The good news turned sour for Mary as she did not receive the news from Christine but from Davina, who got the call from Christine.
Another blow in their relationship came from Mary's side, which was not planned but stemmed from a misunderstanding, as Mary claimed. Amanza Smith planned a bachelorette party for Mary along with other Oppenheim members. But Davina and Christine were left out of another exclusive party, as rumors had it. Mary tried to clear the air around the misunderstanding, but it did not help much.
However, Christine wore the cloak of a bigger person and attended Mary's wedding. She also visited Mary during her wedding dress trial to extend her apology for their fight over the bachelorette party. In December 2019, Mary and Christine mended their ways mutually, and Mary went to be part of Christine's wedding.
During an interview with Women's Health in August 2020, Mary expressed her support and admiration towards Christine. She said:
"It was stunning, and it definitely fit her character and her personality very well. It was, I'm sure, her dream wedding, and it was stunning."
The costars from Selling Sunset have not been in touch, and they recently encountered each other during a party on June 7, 2024. Mary said in an interview with E! News:
"We just ran into each other and got a picture."
Fans can tune in to Netflix on September 6, 2024, to keep up with the drama of Oppenheim group members' personal and professional journey from Selling Sunset.
