Emotional moments and personal struggles in Selling Sunset
Episode 8 of Selling Sunset starts on a sad note with Mary and Jason, whose beloved dog Niko is getting worse because he has end-stage kidney failure. They can't hold back their tears as they think about how Niko has been in their lives for 18 years, through all of its ups and downs.
Later in the episode, Brett tells everyone in the office that Niko has passed away, which makes everyone quite sad. The team finds comfort in each other during this hard time by getting together for a potluck to help Mary and Jason feel better.
Most of the teammates bring home-cooked food, but Bre shows up with a chef, which causes a stir among the group. Chelsea and Emma appear uncomfortable in Bre's presence following a recent conversation about Chelsea's husband's infidelity being discussed publicly.
Real estate moves and new beginnings in Selling Sunset
Along with the emotional beginning, this episode of Selling Sunset also focuses on the business side, showing some great real estate moves and the agents' fresh starts. Chelsea and Emma talk over a cup of coffee about a Manhattan Beach home for sale for about $30 million, making it the most expensive home on the market.
Alanna is determined to show her value and hires Damian as her new project manager. Damian suggests a complicated landscaping plan with olive and carrot trees to make the area more private. Brett agrees to the $150,000 project and tells Alanna how much he admires her drive and ability to get things done.
Chrishell officially closes a big deal, which is another win for The Oppenheim Group. At the same time, Chelsea looks for a house for her friend Joey in London. Joey has specific needs, like wanting a disco in the basement, and has a $4–5 million budget.
Amanza gets back in touch with her artistic roots as she starts painting again. She also accepts an art gallery invitation to participate in a Women's History Month event, where she can show off her skills in areas other than real estate. At the end of the episode, Jason and Brett announce that the company has witnessed its highest commission month in its 30-year history.
