Shark Tank has introduced viewers to passionate individuals with innovative ideas and business models. In this series, aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners pitch their ideas seeking investment and guidance from the sharks. Investors evaluate the business strategy, see whether it's profitable, and make an offer or share a piece of advice for the entrepreneurs.

Sometimes sharks get emotional after entrepreneurs open up about their personal journey on the show as well. The official synopsis of the ABC series reads:

"Aspiring entrepreneurs from around the world pitch their business models to a panel of investors and persuade them to invest money in their idea."

Top 3 pitches on Shark Tank that made investors emotional

1) The Tree T-Pee

Johnny Georges' pitch for Tree T-PEE left a lasting impression on sharks in season 5 episode 17. He shared his idea to help farmers save money on water and use it for irrigation. In an exclusive interview with Business Insider in February 2015, Kevin opened up about the emotional yet "powerful" moment on the ABC series.

Kevin mentioned that The Tree T-Pee founder wasn't looking to make a profit or get rich, his main purpose was to help the farmers. Kevin recalled that he and all other sharks "had a tear in their eye." He continued:

“It was a particularly powerful moment in Shark Tank and no one’s going to forget it. Every shark had a tear in their eye, including me. He is a great soul, that man. He didn’t want to profit from it. He basically wanted to sell it at cost to help other farmers. Now, it’s a powerful thing to want to do that, but it’s not a business.”

Despite Kevin not making a deal, Johnny ended up agreeing to an offer made by guest investor John Paul DeJoria.

2) Invis-A-Rack

Shark Tank investor Robert got emotional when entrepreneur Donny McCall pitched his business idea on the ABC series in season 3, episode 2. Donny stated that his business focused on producing retractable racks for pickup trucks. Upon Donny's vision of creating more jobs, Robert recalled immigrating from Zbjeg, Croatia to Canada with his family.

Robert got emotional talking about his father had recently passed away. Shark Tank investor opened up sharing that his dad was proud of his first-ever job, he said:

“My dad was a factory worker. When we came here, he worked in a factory and swept floors. My dad passed away last year, and I always asked him what was he most proud of. The first factory job — not when he made some money, not when he got promoted — that factory job where he swept floors, that made him proud.”

Even though Robert and Donny couldn't find a common ground to agree to an offer, Donny signed a deal with someone else once the episode aired.

3) Kronos

In season 6, episode 2, the owner of golf putter company Kronos Phillip Lapuz shared his personal story of switching from working at a consulting company to starting his business. He mentioned that his fiance's parents were not in favor of this as they didn't approve of him leaving his previous job. Upon seeing Philip's passion, Robert invested in his company as the other sharks, including Kevin, got emotional.

Shark Tank is available to stream exclusively on ABC. Viewers can follow all sharks on their respective Instagram accounts and social media handles.
