Kyle Bergman, founder of Swoveralls, debuted on season 10 of Shark Tank in 2019. He sought $150,000 in exchange for a 15% stake in his company which specialized in making overalls using sweatpants fabric. Swoveralls blended style and comfort, providing customers the look of overalls with the relaxation of wearing sweatpants.

Despite Swoveralls' noteworthy sales and profit margins, the sharks refused to invest in the company. While most investors backed out expressing concern about its potential in the market, others seemed uninterested in the product itself. As a result, Swoveralls left Shark Tank without securing a single deal.

Although Kyle walked out of Shark Tank empty-handed, Swoveralls continued to grow. After expanding the product line the company generated an annual revenue of around $4 million in 2023. Kyle steered his attention to advertising his products and attracting customers using social media platforms. As of 2024, Swoveralls is a thriving business with many new products in different styles and sizes.

Kyle decided to design his own overalls after failing to find one made of sweatpants material. Usually made from denim or canvas, overalls did not provide Kyle with the comfort of sweatpants. Although he came across a few options online, they were mostly designed for women, not men. Consequently, he took matters into his own hands and crafted a "swoverall."

As he created one, he realized he had a business opportunity in hand. Kyle, a fashion veteran, used his connections to get Swoveralls off the ground. He ran two successful Kickstarter and IndieGoGo campaigns in 2018 that helped him raise $75,461 and $108,396 respectively. Kyle also garnered over $75,000 on Backer Club. With the accumulated funds, he got the business rolling.

Kyle came on Shark Tank, hoping to secure an investment with which he would increase his inventory and expand his product range. Although he had already made $230,000 in sales, the investors remained unconvinced by Swoveralls' potential to grow.

Mark Cuban was the first shark to back out of making an offer after expressing concerns regarding the demand for the product. Kevin O'Leary followed suit and revealed his disinterest in investing in the overall and sweatpants mix.

"I just can't get excited about it. I don't know how I'd get my $150,000 back. And it's not just about getting $150,000 back, I want to get $2 million back and I don't think that's going to happen here," Kevin said.

Daymond John followed suit and backed out of making an offer, citing the lack of a niche product as his primary concern. Meanwhile, Lori Greiner stated she would not invest in Swoveralls because she would have to invest much in marketing to get the product out to the public.

Although Kyle left the Tank without a deal, he remained determined to make his business prosper. Writing on Swoveralls' official website, Kyle expressed his experience on the show.

"I genuinely wanted to make a deal with one of the Sharks, and was not just going on there for the amazing (potential) awareness and publicity my brand would receive. While I was initially bummed I didn't get the chance to create a partnership with one of them, I realized I still owned 100% of my company, and had thousands of incredible customers that loved what we're doing," he said.

After its Shark Tank stint, Swoveralls expanded its product range and now caters to men, women, and children. It added Swovie Shorts, a short version of the overalls, to its product line, available at $98.

The swoveralls, priced at $108, are available in various patterns, including tie-dye patterns, solid colors, checkers, and other prints. The website also sells comfyalls and festivalls, priced at $188 and $125 respectively.

Swoveralls shared a video on their official Instagram handle in July 2023, showcasing Kyle walking up to strangers in New York City and letting them test out Swoveralls. The company currently has over 36.8k followers on Instagram and 56k on TikTok.

Shark Tank airs new episodes on Fridays at 8 pm ET exclusively on ABC.
