"She would literally burn me at the stake"— Selling Sunset star Nicole Young hints at drama involving Emma Hernan's dating life

Netflix's popular reality show, Selling Sunset, returned to screens with a brand new season this week on Friday, September 6, 2024. Season 8 consisted of 11 episodes, all of which dropped at the same time.

The series showcased the complicated interpersonal and professional dynamics at the Oppenheim Group, a leading real estate brokerage situated in Orange County, California. The show welcomed new cast member Alanna Gold, who wanted to take the group out for a retreat in the desert. Although the entire cast could not attend, Amanza, Mary, and Nicole were in attendance.

While having dinner, the cast members discussed the group's dating lives as Alanna asked who all were single. When she said Emma was single, Nicole Young hesitated before insinuating she knew something. Mary and Amanza also knew what the cast member was talking about, but the latter warned her against sharing it with the rest of the group.

"You know I'm going to get murdered for this. She would literally burn me at the stake," Nicole said.

In Selling Sunset season 8 episode 5, Amanza Smith, Mary Fitzgerald, and Nicole Young attended Alanna Gold's retreat. While everyone was expected to join, Chrishell called the newest cast member to tell her she and Chelsea would not be able to attend since the latter was in a bad place.

While having dinner, the four season 8 cast members discussed the group's dating lives. Alanna asked who else was single apart from Amanza and Emma, and Amanza said that Jason and Brett were also single.

"Emma is single? I never know with her. If she's single or dating someone," Nicole said.

Mary said she didn't know while Alanna said she heard Emma was single. Selling Sunset season 8 star Nicole said okay, but the rest of them felt she knew more than she was letting on. When several cast members asked what happened, Nicole said it was "nothing." She added it was something they already knew but didn't want her to bring up.

Alanna asked if it was related to work or related to the weekend and Nicole said "No." When the Selling Sunset season 8 newcomer enquired further, Nicole said it was something she heard about "from a source." She added she wished she didn't know what she knew. She said that she could only reveal that it involved Emma.

Amanza asked if it was about "Orange County" and Nicole said yes. Mary who was still confused, asked what they were talking about. Nicole said the news was "morally upsetting" to all of them but Amanza asked her to stop talking.

Mary and Alanna felt "lost" by the conversation but Amanza and Nicole reminded Mary said she already knew what they were talking about.

"Thanksgiving. Big something," Amanza tried to clue Mary in.

Selling Sunset season 8 star Alanna said she wished she knew. Nicole apologetically said it was something the three of them "were unfortunately aware of." When Mary finally figured out what the two were referring to, she asked if "that" was still going on.

"It's just information that, you know, could really affect families, marriages, and Emma's reputation," Nicole said.

Hearing this, Alanna said she no longer wanted to know about the situation and Amanza "strongly" advised Nicole to stop talking. Nicole clarified she wouldn't do anything about it because she didn't "know anything." She told the Selling Sunset season 8 new cast member that was why they were being "awkward and weird about it."

"As a married woman, that kind of sh*t pisses me off. If I were the wife, I'd f*cking kill someone," Nicole said.

Mary said they didn't need to talk about it but Nicole further said that her husband would "never in a million years." Amanza firmly told her to stop talking. She further cautioned the cast member that she was about to "step in a giant pile of sh*t."
