Co-founders Nikki Linn and Rusty Niedwick appeared on Shark Tank in season 10 episode 11, which aired on January 20, 2019, to pitch cat accessories company, Kitty Kasas.

Shark Kevin O'Leary expressed interest in the company and made an offer to join as a third partner, proposing $200,000 in cash in exchange for 33.3% equity. The founders were struggling with their retail operations, and Kevin O'Leary assured them that, as a partner, he would leverage his expertise to significantly boost their retail sales.

Lori Greiner chimed in praising the founders for their passion and enthusiasm for their company. She matched Kevin's offer, playfully noting that unlike him, she was a fellow cat enthusiast, jokingly calling Kevin a "cat hater."

"I think that potentially I could sell this while in QVC, for one big reason, so many pet lovers. I'm going to make you an offer; 200k for 33.3%, just because he's [Kevin] such a cat hater. So I am going to match exactly what he did," Lori said.

Kevin didn't like how she made that same offer as him and reacted that her fellow shark had "no creativity."

"She has no creativity," Kevin reacted.

Nikki Linn and Rusty Niedwick appeared on season 10 episode 11 to pitch Kitty Kasas and sought a $200,000 investment in return for 20% equity in their company.

"We were so frustrated by the lack of quality pet products. There had to be something better out there. There was nothing. Something cleanable? Nope. Stackable? Negative. Durable? Not even close. And so Kitty Kasas was born," they pitched.

The Shark Tank contestants explained that Kitty Kasas was a modular stackable cube system for cats. Users could either use these cubes individually or could "stack up multiple cubes in hundreds of different ways".

They added that their cubes were "super cute" and "modern". Moreover, their products came in "tons of different colors" and were "virtually indestructible".

"This was really just a solution to cleaning the cat rooms. We can take these outside, we can put them in bleach, we can power wash them. And you just can't do that with carpet and cardboard," Rusty added.

The co-founders revealed that they had been operating a no-kill animal shelter for 20 years. Throughout their extensive experience, they had evaluated countless products on the market but found none that matched the unique combination of aesthetics and functionality their product offered.

"We really made it for ourselves and then everyone who adopted a cat came in and said 'Ohh, wanna buy one of those cute little things. And then we put them on our shelter website and it sold out. Then we said they just sort of grew from there," the Shark Tank contestants continued.

Sales, cost, and deal with Lori Greiner

Rusty shared that over the past year and a half, they had achieved $600,000 in sales. In the last three months alone, their sales reached $200,000, showcasing significant growth and demand for their products.

They offered three distinct products: the "Bedroom," priced at $39 with a production cost of $10; the "Scratchy Post," priced at $49 with a production cost of $11; and the "Little Top Bed," priced at $22.99 with a production cost of $5.

After Lori matched Kevin's offer of $200,000 in cash in exchange for 33.3% equity, the Shark Tank contestants asked if she was willing to take 30%. Lori instantly accepted and struck a deal offering $200,000 for 30% equity.

According to Shark Tank Recap, Kitty Kasas was eventually acquired by Jolly Pets. As of January 2025, Kitty Kasas products are available on Jolly Pets' website, Amazon, and at many pet stores including Petco, and Pet Supplies Plus.
